Leavon's Proton Pack

Hi, I've been lurking for the past couple of months and thought I'd post some pics of my not quite complete pack (usual disclaimers about not being screen accurate etc.). The story behind it is that I'm the singer/guitarist in a 70's funk band, as soon as we were hired to play a wedding on halloween I knew that I wanted to do some sort of fancy dress, a quick google threw up gbfans and 7 weeks of my life just disappeared
I kind of knew from the outset that I wouldn't get the wand made as I only had a couple of months and as I play guitar I wouldn't be able to hold it anyway, so all focus was on the pack. I was determined that I was going to scratch build the whole thing (biggest challenge was the bumper but even that wasn't so bad), I got burned on customs and postage on the frame and flight suit (I'm from the UK) so I couldn't face any more on replica parts. So there's plenty of improvising and inaccuracies, as you can see I started with a cake pan that was a better sized cyclotron but in the end I found a tupperware container that was a more appealing shape, the size is a little off, variety is the spice and all that. It's also missing then N-filter, crank knob, red and blue hoses from the power cells and a connector on the HGA, these were really due to time constraints, but they will get done along with the proton wand post-gig.
The lighting is courtesy of a couple of Velleman led chaser kits, dead cheap and have 8 different chase programs with a potentiometer to control the speed.
Oh yeah, we're gonna be playing Ghostbusters (and thriller) tomorrow night, I'll try and get some photos of the pack in action
Anyway I've got some patches to iron on my flight suit,
Thanks to everyone for all the great info on the site, it's been really good fun and a learning process building the pack, I've definitely got the prop building bug now.

Thanks very much! That's a great idea, I've got some spare hose so I'll see if I can rig it up, I was thinking of taping a can of silly string to the headstock of the guitar to shower the audience so that would tie in pretty well!

looks great.... it'd be cool to connect your guitar with a hose and connect that to your pack....essentially making your guitar into the wand.
