sulaco76's Proton Pack

My Proton Pack is the vacuumformed plastic shell from Studio Creations, which makes a great staring point for your project. www.studiocreations.com
The plastic is very thick, and combined with a good strong mother board you have a very robust and sturdy pack that will last.
I spent about three months building it, which includes searching/aquiring the parts, waiting for them to be delivered (usually from the U.S.A) and taking my time to assemble.

I used real parts (mostly the bits on the Ion Arm) as much as I could, and parts like the bumper & the Partical thrower are created from resin purchased from M.M.M & nick-a-tron.

I wanted it to be as heavy as the if it was a real bit of machinary. It weighs in at about 10KG, which makes it look good when its on your back. The ALICE pack makes it very comfortable.

I have lights in the Cyclotron and the gun, & wil be adding the blue power bar at a later date.

It must be added that building your own pack is time consuming (searching for parts on the net etc, which is made more difficult living in the UK), but when finished feels very rewarding, more so than just buying a completed version made by someone else off ebay!

Thanks for looking, and please leave me a comment...

2010 update:
I have now upgraded my pack to include start-up, constant hum and the main theme music. Also the power bar on the partical thrower & the pack.

I bought from "exoray" on ebay, it was a little expensive but as its quite a prominent part of the pack I wanted it as accurate as possible.
This is 100% screen accurate.
Its made from resin, so its very strong. Just like a bumper should be! )
