| | This is my GBII proton pack I started building in November of 2005. It's the first prop of any kind I have ever built. It is constructed of 1/8" SINTRA plastic, every piece cut by hand with a utility knife, and may I say I'll never do this again! lol! There are some real metal parts on it, such as the Clippard pieces, Ion Knob (made of stacked washers), brass rod on the Ion Arm, motherboard, and pack-gun hook.
It was a huge project for me but by the end I had some really great experience and in my opinion, an awesome pack. I went through great expense and time searching out real accurate parts, E.G. the clippards are all real, the Spectra-Strip Rainbow Ribbon cable, custom machined wand-pack gun hook, custom machine Irricanian 1/8" aluminum motherboard, cut to Stefans plans, and, what i'm most proud of, REAL 1/8" grey Legris elbow fittings.
I used Stefans awesome plans, and though confusing at first, I got used to them and really enjoyed the dimensions and look of the result. One part i'm fairly proud of with this is when I tried using metal washers for the cyclotron light windows, they weren't "right" according to the plans, so I hand cut, with the utility knife and they came out very nice and round 
Though it's finished and I wear it at conventions and such, I still mess with it from time to time. There are little things I want to work on, and have been, since I finished it. I plan to build at least three more soon, working with the molding/casting technique some use.
It has working lights in both the pack and wand, with a barrell extension mechanism I worked into it with a spring-loaded toilet paper roll holder. It's the not the most perfectly created system, but it works. I had a sound system that works manually, E.G. I have to hit the play button on an MP3 player at the same time I fire my wand or flip the On switch. When timed right, the effect is awesome.
