Zack's Proton Pack

Zack

Earlier last year, I realized my parents had a lot of cardboard sitting around so I started working on one as just sort of a time killer project with cardboard and hot glue. It went pretty well and sat unfinished for awhile and was kind of forgotten.

long story somewhat short, my dad was gonna help me get a real wood pack done but then he had somewhat of a minor surgery that kept us from doing much of anything. I then started working on my cardboard pack again as a backup. My dad ended up feeling better and though it was too late to really get a wood pack goin, he helped me mount the one I had worked on and given me a lot of great ideas and stuff to help get it done. I had a lot of the real parts(resistors, tubing, ribbon cable, switches) but decided to save it for my next project.

Though far from perfect, everyone loved it. I can tell already there is stuff I'm wanting to do to improve and add to it. It felt great to be able to strap on a proton pack and go show off for Halloween. Even a lot of these pictures are in various stages where I changed stuff and made it better. Now I need to work on a nice ribbon cable and getting pictures in better light. The flash tends to make every cardboard flaw come out.

Though it looks downright awful next to real packs, I'm still surprised how much it amazes people who don't know anything about the packs except a black backpack with some wires on it. Hopefully sometime in the not too distant future, I'll start my "real" pack
