Ghostbusters : The Video Game is the SH*T!!!
this game does not disappoint.
ok here it goes .
I first went to the sony pictures set up in the middle of exhibit hall.
Who do I see there first? Ryan French , AKA the rookie himself.
I shook his hand and spoke with him briefly as He started me up on the demo and handed me the controller.
Before he left he told me the demo is coming in SEPT for Xbox , PS3 , and PC!!!
I first played through the demo on PS3 then I traveled over to the firehouse doors to play the 360 version. Now Let me tell you first hand,
( the testers know this already)
no picture or video we have seen do any of the graphics Justice at all.
They are Beautiful. Beyond Beautiful. The actors faces have been
recreated to a tee!. The demo has full voice acting by Ernie Hudson , Dan Aykroyd , And Harold Ramis, You can hear them clear as day.
The Xbox and PS3 versions are damn near identical. So don't worry about which system you have , you wont get cheated.
The demo is the Public library level. most of the stuff you guys have already seen in the demo but it was fully playable.
switching to and from your equipment is very fluid. It's not a hassle to go back to your PKE after having out the proton gun. The music from the films plays and changes based on whats going on in the game. The dialogue is great! the visual and camera movement is Great! and the enemies are challenging enough to keep you playing this over and over (I played the demo 9 times today in between panels)
Side note :
I also had a talk with Nate Watson , One of the artists from the Ghostbusters Manga coming out and I got some pics of some of his favorite panels from the book that he did. I also got an inside look at one of the stories in the book.
some interesting points :
1. I now know why the PKE looks the way it does. The PKE In 1991 is the worlds first PDA according to Ryan!. Egon invented it , and I didn't notice before but thats also how you get to the menu and to Tobins Spirit guide.
A huge bit of info that explains a lot!!!
2. The panel was cancelled but I was able to squeeze out the Multi-player info from Ryan and another producer named Ben ( he apparently is Ryan's superior) so it goes like this :
multi-player online for xbox and ps3 is co-op and can be a total of 4 players . So you know what that means ...
YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY 1 OF THE ORIGINAL 4 WITH YOUR BUDDIES!!!
also another FREAKING COOL thing about multi-player is that it has it's own missions separatley from the single player campaign. You literally get Jobs from Jeanine and go out and do them together with your friends. that was all I was able to get out of them but that should be enough to get you guys all interested about playing online!.
Ryan is such a cool guy and he wasn't the least bit bashful about answering my questions. Ben told me he was present when all of the actors voiced their lines. They all did them separately and you will all
be delighted to know that Dan Aykroyd powered through all of his main script lines in the first session! according to Ben He was a machine!
now , I have 2 more videos of myself playing the demo. One where I am trapping the animator and the other is a full 10 min video of the entire
demo start to finish. This one is not as good as the first one I did because
the Glare forced my wife to stand back a bit. But nevertheless , you can see and partially hear the entire demo as I saw it.
and I got 2 of the coveted T-shirts from Ryan and some Marshmallow flavored lip balm which makes my set complete. Everything that they gave away in the promo box minus the box and the dvd, I got for FREE!
4. the last question I asked was if there was going to be a special edition of the game and Ben said It is a possibility and didn't elaborate any further.
