From what little I've seen the matty goggles don't use a screen but a rear projection setup of some kind. If you want full motion video your best option is to tear apart the matty goggles, design a custom video sequence, hack a pair of video glasses, throw out the matty crap and install your custom...

Someone should tell them that the bargraph in that is incandescent, and is 1200 bucks to replace. I mean, I'm sure they know that, because they are so well versed with the prop, but still, just to be safe...

I'm going off what I know about the cost of a current car undergoing restoration, as well as what the accurate parts cost, most of which no fan-made ECTO actually have on them.

Personally, I see cars at auction going for far less than they are worth, so that's not a very good scale to use IMHO.

I'd say above 125k if it's actually a decent restoration/conversion. Higher as more accurate parts are included.

It's more of Matty being Matty. The whole "you can still get a refund" argument is pointless; they should have a prototype, and shouldn't require a set preorder to make the damn thing.

Remember, the reason that these photos weren't posted before is because of what Jack already stated. These weren't taken by some random fan of a prop on display.

So you're spending insane amounts of money on the parts to make an Ecto-1A without even having a car to start with? I think you're being a bit over-ambitious by approaching the project that way. IMHO, if you can't get the car, don't spend money on the parts.
