You'll have to fill and sand and fill and sand and fill and sand a ton to get them smooth. If you plan on molding the nicer your master is the less work you have to put in on each shell you pull later.

If you want a working meter your best option is to cut one down so the electronics fit and then redo the graphics.

The frames were sanded/tightened down so the back was rounded a bit and sits more flush to the tube.
All the packs are 30+ years old and aren't well cared for. Parts sag due to heat and age.
It all comes down to what version of a pack you want to do, actual or idealized.

The goggles look like a modified version of welding goggles.
