Frozen Empire Errors / Incongruities

Anyone spot any? While there are clearly a couple of spots where you can tell scenes were abbreviated, modified, inserted, etc. I felt like this movie did really well with congruity, despite the complexities of everything going on. One slip I did notice was just before Phoebe and Podcast go out on t...

See for me, the yellow additions, the new ion arm, the wand changes - they all felt like modernizations. Manufactured improvements, backed by research. It's the wonky stuff that makes no sense to me. For example, why would Winston's R&D unit source a bunch of gas mask hose and fuel line for eve...

I read it as both at the same time. I'd rather not call it ambiguous, because I don't think it was totally intended for us to 'decide' anything. I think it's just that even Phoebe doesn't know, and it adds some intriguing stakes. She's drawn to this soul because they are a kindred spirit (sorry), an...

I somehow managed to avoid almost everything about this movie after the first trailer, and I have to admit was a mix of excited and ready to be 'just whelmed' today when I saw it with my family. But we all had a GREAT time! It was so much fun, and I not only had a smile on my face the whole time, I ...

In general, what is the material and build quality like on the HasLab stuff, compared with the Mattel equipment?

I was lucky enough to snag a Matty Collector PKE and Trap at retail, back in the day, but I have not ever needed any of the previous Hasbro HasLab equipment.

Apologies if this has been answered somewhere, but I didn't see it in the Q&A. Does anyone mention how loud the volume of the trap can get?

This is the part where I enjoy the fact we have a new Ghostbusters movie coming out, watch the trailer one last time, and then check out of this thread and all other GBFE news until I’m watching the credits roll.

Love you all!

Yeah it's not the best, but there's at least more to it than just 'sounding cool' - with New York being 'The Empire State', having the Empire State building, etc.

Nothing says you have to have these new ones. The Matty PKE is a near perfect represents of the prop used in GB1/2.

If your happy with those, it's ok to pass on the haslab.
Oh I know. I’d love both, I just am running out of room :) it’s more of a space issue!

How many of you have Matty Collector PKEs / Traps that you are considering selling after this announcement? I don't really see myself wanting to have more than one PKE, or trap, for that matter. I love the more GB1/2 weathering of the Matty Trap (and the knock/bump rumble feature), and the shape of ...

Damn, I think I'm in for these. I might sell my Mattycollector PKE to fund some of this. I know what's going to happen though - as soon as I buy this, they will announce Afterlife Ecto Goggles.

Ah, bummer. I'll have to figure out something else!

I seem to have missed out on the few runs of PKE sound mods over the past few years, and it doesn't look like anyone is currently producing them.

Am I missing out, or are these just tough to come by? Is there a go-to mod that people are currently using in 2023?

Hey all. It's been awhile since I've build any GB props! I'm thinking about doing a pair of Ecto Goggles. If I ordered the following from the site, what else will I be missing? Lights?

I'd love just a simple sound mod for the Matty PKE. I look every now and then but I somehow missed Dave's kits! If anyone out there has one and isn't planning on getting around to it... Let me know :)

I found this new shot on Anthony Breznican's Twitter feed. He wrote the Vanity Fair article that talks about Murray putting him up to trying on the heavy hero pack on set. This looks like that photo! Does this thrower look ... short?

Wow. These look great. For years I have been avoiding building a pair of Ecto Goggles, but I finally need to scratch that itch. My only peeve is, if a fully grown man has issues with the weight of the proton packs, how are we supposed to believe kids are not going have issues with them?

Well as we all know quite well, grown men complain about almost everything- especially when it comes to our backs!

I just wanted to chime in and say that you all are awesome. On my second viewing of the trailer I said out loud "Looks like a GB1 ribbon cable." and I'm so happy there's a place online where -anyone- knows what I meant by that. Not only, It's one of the first comments on this thread! Love ...

Something stands out to me as -not- bogus about the Summerville GB account. Take a close look at those pack closeup pictures. There's a bit of open hex-mesh in the latest photo, surrounding parts of the pack. There is no hex mesh on a proton pack - but there is a hex mesh... (potential spoilers belo...

Hey, my old thread lives! I have a spirit pack at home now too, and would be happy to create a scaled down template if there’s interest.

Are people really modding these packs to that level of detail?

I would be thrilled with this.

Thanks for the update! My pack (photo here!) has an 'overheat' mode on the lights, but it's not tied into an overheat sound. I did go back about a year ago and added a charging plate, and did an e-cig mod (which is currently manually controlled.) If anything I'd love to go in and simplify the electr...

Hi everyone, Namssorg here. It's been awhile. I was a regular daily visitor to the pack build threads back in 2011-2012 and sporadically have checked in from time to time after I finished that build. I think the updated EW article indicated that Jason directed the teaser trailer.
If that's the case, fantastic! I just realized that my OWN proton pack is out back, hanging on the wall of my shed, covered in a sheet collecting dust. I guess it's time to dust her off and charge her up!

The handful of times I've watched the teaser make me hope it was actually directed by people involved with the actual film. The long tracking shot, leaves blowing around, the SOUNDS - everything about the tone is perfect. It reminds me of shots in the openings of both Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II.

I don't have much faith in Sony, but they did something really off the wall and interesting with Men In Black 3. Maybe there's a chance this could be something fun.
