Well as nice as this is to see the picture of the real prop, I have just found "several" issues to fix with my current design. My plan is -as close as I can- but within the limits of actually finishing it. :) Hey Far451! I tried messaging you on Facebook but didn't see a reply. I'd love t...

Amazing as always, the work inside the prop is unprecedented!

Are you planning to use your existing styrene faceplate or swap it out for your 3D printed one?

AJ here's a video of random measurements in case this helps. https://youtu.be/pyXwoo_smtk I kinda lost steam on this project when that new photo proved the sliver lens base is now back in the "partially unidentified" realm lol In searching for other microscope and telescope adapters, the ...

Based on the photos in this thread, I'm really starting the think the base of the lenses are a T mount like this: https://i.imgur.com/9m6k16y.jpg This could mean the T mount threads into the mounting plate and then the lens would thread into the T mount. You guys are all infinitely more knowledgable on this stuff, but any chance the lens isn't mounted to the exterior plate, but the interior plate? If the exterior plate just has a hole that the lens sticks through, a good portion of the knurled ring would be hidden from view? Does that make any sens...

Great find, would it be possible for you to also measure the knurl length on the cylinder? That would help me in creating a digital copy.

The plan is to use a 9g servo with a slot on the arm to convert the rotary motion to linear. It's cheap, it's strong, and it's easier than the other options I've tried! My plan for this project is to have everything 3D printable. I don't have access to an end mill or CNC so I wanted to keep it simple.
