There is no DNA, only Zuul. :)

I kind of think I want the GB2 ribbon cable, how do I know I'm buying exactly the same part, with the flat section and all? Does this one look legit? You want the 1986-vintage ribbon cable that has a matte finish (with light blue ‘Spectra Strip’ stamping every few feet); newer versions of that cabl...

My third, is that the gas tank cap was in a location nearly identical to the original Ecto-1's, and Ecto-1A's. Which now makes me wonder if this change came about because of the new engine? If both cars have been given new engines, neccesitating modified gas caps, then we have a likely explanation ...

Aside from the rear door logo being a tad oversized, as well as the necessary modifications done with the ladder/rear passenger door, it’s a pretty faithful recreation of the car in its GB1 configuration (without any of the glaring CVS restoration inaccuracies).

For the GB2 spacers, you can get all accurate steel spacers and bolts at any hardware store. If doing GB1, I would recommend making them out of wood instead of hockey pucks, especially since it will be easier to cut and smooth a half-circle for the middle crossbar spacer.

While I’ve always been of the school of thought that the Ecto-1 and 1A are the same vehicle, it’s possible that they acquired a second ‘59 MM in the early 90s and installed the old roof rack on it in order to have two serviceable Ectomobiles. There’s even a line in the GB1 novelization by Richard Mu...

Believe me, I would like nothing more than to see Dan (as well as Ernie and Bill) in the film, but given that it's taken almost three decades to get a traditional GB3 produced, and that many of us on here have been waiting most of our lives for a cinematic continuation of the storyline, it's best to...

The bumper lines up in between two sections of the sync.gen. and I'm curious if people used bolts that fit in between those sections or did you use a thicker bolt that will have to have part of those sections drilled into? The bumper uses four 1/4-20 Allen head bolts (or pan head for GB2) to secure...

It's actually a shaft collar for the green lever that controls the barrel extension mechanism. If you can't get a metal one and end up using plastic or resin, you can always just paint the shaft collar black (as four of the five hero throwers originally had it painted).

Very nice write-up! A few notes to add to the discussion: - Winston and Ray’s Hero Slimeblowers used LC-1 and LC-2 frames respectively. - The LC-2 frames were all spray-painted black. - Ray’s semi-hero pack used an LC-1 frame and straps. - The hero packs used in GB2 had all of their original webbing...

Although I’m 99% certain the footage doesn’t exist (and was never filmed in the first place), it would be neat if the original concept of testing the proton packs from the script (where they try to power them via building current and melt the plug) was recorded on video by Ray and unearthed by the k...
