One thing I've noticed looking at early films is that there were a lot, and I mean a lot of cross overs between series. Almost like a cinematic universe only I'm not sure how much sequels tied in and whatnot.

Remakes/reboots just don't bother me anymore, best case scenario I get a different version of a favourite film to enjoy, worst case it's god awful but I still have the original. Not sure why it would warrant any other response than this.

I mean do I understand why this is getting a remake, not really, especially as all involved in the original would like a sequel (which just wasn't the case with Ghostbusters for 20+ years so a reboot for better or worse was technically justified if the franchise was to continue) but I just can't muster any kind of annoyance at this news. Indifferent at best.

Yeah remakes with a few surprises for me like Robocop...are never done well or any better. I haven't seen the GB reboot and I won't. The Trek reboots series at least has new timelines which was already a cannon thing if you watch other series from the 'prime' timeline.

I just shake my head...I don't watch them and if you don't watch it they won't try to remake it again...this isn't like Spider-Man or Superman where they have to re boot them every few years but at least theres a longer goal there of a series of films...but if you don't go pay to see remakes they generally stop making new versions of things. They could tell me they're remaking the Last Starfighter or The Goones and I would be ticked...but I'd never go see it so I loose nothing.

The last starfighter is one of those films that actually needs a continuation, not really a reboot. As for Hocus Pocus I don't take issue with it unless they change the witches to warlocks.

Goonies should be left alone, and I think Marvel is rather idiotic by not trying to re introduce The Meteor Man along side Black Panther. Not in the same movie, but maybe through shield or the next netflix series. Personally I would rather see continuations then reboots but everyone has their preference.

It is a Marvel property. A good way for Marvel to say to DC "We can do Superman better." Plus I would like to see them add him to the next Defenders season along side Night Thrasher.

Eh, not exactly. Marvel published a comic based on the film, but it's not really a Marvel property. There was never an actual comic before that, the idea came from the film. Kind of like DC publishing a Demolition Man comic, it doesn't mean DC owns the property. MGM would more than likely own it. Even if they didn't, there's little to no reason to put such an obscure character into that universe.

Marvel would be able to make it work I think. I'd love to see something done with him. Though for Marvel phase 4 a good way to introduce the new Wolverine could be a period world war II film with him along side Captain America. It would be awesome if it could be Hugh but I think he's officially hung up the claws.

There are plenty of heroes in Marvel history who are probably more deserving of adaptation than the dubiously-qualified Meteor Man.

Although I like the idea of a WWII era Wolverine flick, I don't think it'd work to retroactively introduce him into Cap's timeline... You can keep the setting, but I think it would work better to keep them separate. It was a big war, and the chances of two metahumans bumping into each other were probably smaller than we'd estimate.

It was an episode of x men evolution.

It could work with or without Cap. It would be a way to have Wolverine knowing who he is before Weapon X.

They could tie in Sinister, or one of the scientists that developed the super soldier serum with Logan freeing some unknown mutants rescuing them from experimentation.

Basing the super soldier serum on mutant DNA could introduce them into the MCU. Agent Coulson dropping classified photo's on Professor Xavier's desk could be the way to set up the rest of the X-men movies. If Marvel decides to add X Men to the MCU.

Professor Charles Xavier. Charles, Chuck, the guy in the wheel chair played by the guy in the captains chair.Whatever you choose to call Professor X. Some people call him Francis but I wouldn't recommend it. Lol.

But there was a reason to bring the reboot into the star wars thread? lmao. This movie has a huge fan base and people are outraged (including the cast) that it's being rebooted. Same thing happened with ATC. But whatever fits your agenda I suppose.

It was limited similarity, and it certainly didn't need to be referenced in the thread title. By removing the reference the thread could've been considered by prospective forum posters without the taint of a possible anti-reboot agenda.
