Paint not drying on welding goggles

Hi all
I’ve got a set of slightly rubbery welding goggles that I’ve converted into ecto goggles.
The problem I have is that paint on the rubber doesn’t seem to ever dry? It remains tacky to the touch even weeks and months after painting.

Is there something I can do to it or with it to solve this problem?

Thank you!!

I dusted mine with baby powder. Takes care of the tacky, sticky feeling.

Rubber isn't a big fan of paint

I second the baby powder suggestion. Had to do that to the pair I made because after sitting for a week, the tack just wouldn't go away. Using a small paint brush, I dusted my goggles with a coat of Neutral Set Powder which is used for setting greasepaint makeup, but baby powder is pretty much the same thing only with that signature smell.
