Let's not forget, this is Ecto-1B so there are aspects of 1A to it to retain some of the continuity. But it ultimately is a Ghostbusters film taking places after Ghostbusters II...so I can respect the makers for that.

The Ecto-1A always felt like an advertising promotion. Once their relaunched business settled and things were back to normal, they retooled the car mostly for work equipment again.

FYI the primered pre-Ecto in GB1 had the truck mirrors. I kinda like them.
