Ya know what it says on the first page of this thread?

Here. Here is what it says on the first page of this thread.
This thread is for the posting of prospective Ectomobile conversions found on eBay, craigslist and the like.

Here's a Craig's List link for the FORD Connect service truck.

I don't have a link to ebay or anything but I've always thought a 1972 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser would work nicely

It has everything! It even has some slight "wings" above the brake lights... the only thing I have a problem with is the trunk door doesn't swing open, it slides up and down (split in the middle) meaning that the bottom half of the trunk door slides down into the frame, and the top half slides up... I like it though...

Please keep in mind that this thread is for the posting of links to the sale of classic hearses/ambulances (otherwise known as "pro cars") that would make accurate or near-accurate replicas. There are plenty of threads in this section for the discussion of what cars you imagine would make a great Ecto.

You know what would make a great Ecto? Like an obscure version of the "sports" option from the C64 game? The AMC Javelin! NEVER seen it done! :sigh:

Seriously guys....while there ARE Ford and Olds pro-cars, the cars that have been mentioned are NOT pro-cars and don't belong here.

And while I can see the argument by the layman for a service truck being a pro-car, it ISN'T. Just like a police car isn't. A pro-car isn't just a fleet vehicle, its a custom, often handbuilt CAR BASED vehicle for the funeral or ambulance services. Caddy ambulance, sweet. Pontiac ambulance, awesome. Buick hearse, that'll do. Van-bulances are on the cuff, as are firevehicles...but passenger sedans, and station wagons are right out!

As Boomer said....lots of threads out there for standard vehicles, use those.

Here's a good rule of thumb...does the car have a coach company OUTSIDE of the vehicle brand? Meaning its a Caddy by Miller Meteor, or a Pontiac by Superior, or a Lincoln by Eagle...if so regardless of hearse, ambulance, or yes even limo, its a PRO-CAR! If not....POST IN THE ECTO-ALTERNATIVES THREAD!!!!

Of course the irony is that because this post isn't about the sale of a pro-car, it is itself in violation....but I digress.

You don't want those things. Neither are the right model and that guy literally bought them from New Jersey for $2500, where they were rotting in a field. He got them to NV, primered over the rust and wants to sell them for 4 times as much.

Nice, but it'd have to be cheaper than Fifth's old '60. This one looks a lot rougher.

Hard to tell from the photo if it's an MM Futura or not.

I really hope whoever buys it doesn't convert it into an ecto. She's too good for that.

I agree, that car's already restored to perfection and too rare at that quality. If it were a fixer-upper it'd be a great starting base but leave that car alone.
