Does anyone have an recommendations for the LED scroll sign sign used on the Ecto-1a? I'm doing a custom conversion to my personal vehicle, so doesn't need to be screen accurate, but would like to get the best bang for my buck!

I remember doing a scale comparison using the length of the car to calculate the dimensions of the dot-matrix boards. I'll have to see if I still have those numbers.

Bear in mind that the boards on the 1A are huge, and unless you're using a pro-car as your base, you'll probably want to go with something a bit smaller.

Indeed! I'm using my 2007 Volkswagen rabbit. I didn't want to do a small sign in the window, but I'm not looking to go as big as the original, either. I'm more looking in the lines of having something with multiple colors, instead of a solid red or blue light.

At one point Boomerjinks had some really nifty LED signboards on his Ecto-Magnum that looked pretty sharp. He mentioned that he got them at Sam's Club years ago; with a little searching I'm sure you can find something comparable.
