I'm going to try to make a replica of the 2016 Ecto-1 (Because it's very simple) but the most important part, the giant yellow beacon, can't be found. So, has anybody found the name or even the company? I've tried Whelen but all of their beacons are 1/3 it's size.

The yellow dome and silver casing are custom, the internals are claimed to be off of a locomotive, but there's nothing conclusive supporting that.

Some people I know that were searching for this light found that the closest thing they could compare it to was a DJ beacon. If you google it you usually find blue and red ones and some are pretty close in size. May even be able to use one and convert it.

Otherwise custom making one may be the only other route.

Another detail that suggests that the beacon casing is either custom or non-pro (such as a DJ light) is that during some of the location shooting, there was a strip of blue tape around the seam between the silver casing and yellow lens when it rained; obviously they were worried about the electronics getting wet and had to seal it off. If it were a Whelen or other such product, it would have definitely been weather-sealed.

My response on the other thread: "The guts look to be from a wolo 3600-A lamp, and my best guess is that the base is probably custom billet with a vac formed dome."

Also, a number of the Lyft Ectos have a regular yellow gumball mounted on the roof rack, and not on the roof itself. I'd love to know where they got all of the racks on such short notice, makes me think that the rack is an off the shelf item.
