Proton Pack Wall Mount (Charging Station)

Back before Halloween I made a "keeper" pack for myself. On getting back from a slew of parties Halloween night, the pack has basically sat on the same chair I dropped it on when I got home.

I hate to store the thing away, I'm pretty fond of it -so I thought I'd take a swag at making a display stand. I've seen some of the ways members display their packs: guitar stand, custom floor stand, laundry/door hooks and they all look pretty good, but I wanted to make something that looked cool if the pack wasn't on it and seemed like it had functionality -maybe a charging station.

Sorry, no WIP pics, the build was pretty simple. The basic mount is a 3x1 scrap of wood. The resistors, knob and heat sink are resin pieces I had laying around. The heat sink is a defective casting and I'm not sure if I really like having it hang off the side -but it was that or nothing, there wasn't enough space for it directly on the mount. The ribbed piece in the center is a piece of rubber carpet guard for stairs. The LEDs are non-functional. The hooks are coat hooks from Home Depot -about $5 for the two of them.

Hope you like it -your comments are welcome.

I think it's awesome! Pretty original, and it looks great, too! I like the caution tape style striping you've put along the top best.

How much does that pack weigh? I'd mount mine to the wall...but it would have to be a very good mount....i dont want mine falling off

Its about 20-25 lbs. I put in a couple of wall anchors and its seems to be hanging on pretty well. The pack's vac-formed plastic, so it can take a bit of a hit/fall -course I'd rather not test that theory...

I know this is an old post but I am looking for a way to display my pack and I think this is the one of the most original ways to both display the pack and use up some of the spare parts I have collected during my build. KC, I think you are the one I bought my bumper from and you do great resin work if so. You should consider making a charging station kit. I would love to integrate the battery charger cable into it and actually make it work.
