im new here and finally am able to buy a pack, ive decided to take everyones advice and stay away from bobspropshop... Anovos looks pretty reputable except it doesn't come with electronics... I have found this auction that looks pretty legit. would this auction be everything I need to hook up lights and sounds? thanks again.... any other links or anything would be appreciated.

Not an expert on light and sound kits as I have just started looking at them myself, but you might want to take a look at this thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=43273 He does a good job of coming up with a less expensive solution and it looks like the code is available online too.

Also; the kit you linked does not include:
Battery (12v, this will power both light kits as well as most amplifiers, a separate 3v power source is needed for the sound kit, to avoid amplifier feedback)
Amplifier (A small hobby amplifier like the 'Q-Kits 15w mono amp' are perfect)
Speaker (This depends somewhat on your amplifier, but with the above Q-Kits amp, a 4 ohm car speaker works great)
Small piece of speaker wire (To connect the speaker to the amp, and the amp to the sound kit)

So you will still have to buy those as well.

yea that's a cool link but is to much for me. Money isn't really an object and would rather something more simple like plug and play. I wanna build the pack myself.

Question if I wanted to buy a pack fully built solid, screen accurate pack where would I start? I know I know, not bobspropshop. even tho his stuff looks legit.

I would definitely stay away from Video Bob!
Even if you overlooked the Recasting aspect of the situation a lot of his stuff is really poorly made and it would take a lot of work to get it fixed!

If money isn't a problem and if you're lucky you could post in the wanted section on this site and get one that a member is wanting to sell.

Or you could get someone that does commissions on pack building but you might have to wait a little while as it takes some time to build one.

Just make sure that if you are expecting it at a certain date (like before a con or before Halloween as an example) that you and the seller agree on those terms.

I still don't get why people don't like video bob. ok lets say hes a thief and bully his stuff looks legit... his ebay page shows the materials he uses...his list of things is basically the same as a anovos pack.... Has anyone really had a bobspropshop in their position? my point is he has 100% feedback from his packs and if he lied about any of it wouldn't he get negative remarks?

There's a Member here that had bought one of Video Bobs Proton Packs off of eBay and the Pack was already falling apart when he received it!

The Proton Pack was redone and was documented in this thread but unfortunately the Pictures are not there due to the image hosting problems

The quality was really poor and a lot of poorly made parts had to be replaced.

Yes, I know about the guys at GB Fans, that is the only place I am "banned".

Why? Because I am their greatest competition and since they can't out sell me they totally make up shit.
We sell one to two packs per week on eBay and we don't have a single negative feedback. NONE.
You will also not find a single complaint from an actual customer.
The only people talking smack are internet trolls who are jealous that we have our own TV show,

So imagine you are GBfans and you sell proton pack shells and complete packs,

you have as many as 30 people waiting in line to buy your stuff.
Then some guy comes along with a direct casting of the screen used original and offers them not only cheaper but ready to ship immediately.
I totally destroyed their business and they lost their minds and started talking all this bunk to try to kill my sales, the more they tried, the more I sold!!
So think about it, would I work with Sony, Ernie Hudson, Paul Fieg, Ivan Reitman, Discovery, Velocity, Reelz, ABC, and all the other outlets we work with

if we were really all the things they claim?
Don't you think we would have a bunch of negative feedbacks, lawsuits, reports, etc.?
We have none of that.
We build the most popular and solid Proton Pack in the world.
GB Fans does have a huge fan base, but they operate out of a basement, literally, it's just AJ Quick and a few of his friends.
I run a million dollar company, I own this 5000 sqft building, we have a LLC Corporation and a DBA in the city of Duncanville Dallas.
Those guys aren't even a REAL business!!!!

We have a premiere business Paypal account and we are eBay Power Sellers.
What do all those other guys have?
Every single one of the other "builders" out there are working from their house, in the garage, on the kitchen table.
They can't compare to what we do.


Anyway, it's up to you dude.
Feel free to ask another other builder about their materials.
Ask for references, reviews.
Ask for photos all around, videos.
Most of these guys don't even use their real name.
You have no idea who they are or where your money goes or when you will get your pack.
Listen to what all the other reviewers have to say, how much they regretted buying from someone else first instead of ordering from me.
They were like you, skeptical, and they bought the $1500 pack that was a pile of shit, crooked, glued, wood, paste, shity paint, crappy paper labels, etc.
If you want the BEST, you want ours plain and simple.
