Sweet jesus YES. That'd be awesome :D

Amazing work, man.

Hello Ian23

Casting is a slow and expensive way of making one pack and a quick and inexpensive way of making 100.

If there is the interest, I will make a tutorial on building with sheet styrene, which is available in a range of thicknesses. Here is a quick sketch that shows how to make the emitter heatsink from 1mm [0.04"] and 3mm [0.1"] styrene.

That exploded view of the heatsink is just awesome.

I'd also love to see plans and a tutorial. Not that there aren't plans already here but I like seeing the packs broken down into their components and how each person goes about not only forming the beauty parts but all the reinforcements and attachment points. The most interesting photos I see here are of the individual components in progress and would like to see more.

In short, you've got my interest as well.

Here's a sheet with the layout of the Heatsink Assembly for styrene.

http://www.specialisedpromotions.com.au ... sembly.PDF

It includes a Bill of Materials [BOM] and should be easy enough to follow.

I think with a short tutorial about working with styrene, a series on constructing the pack should work very well.

Absolutely amazing. Especially if you make them 1:1 scale (I didn't look at the file you posted, so I can't tell). You could make the most comprehensive pack plans on the site. :D

After another couple of hours interpreting Stephan's Emitter drawings I've added some more detail to the model, and submit a couple of renders for scrutiny.

That file is 1:1 scale Not404 - you could make an accurate heatsink from that page.

Thanks Rae, yes it's me. : )

I made one of these last year, and haven't had time to get back. I see there are a few people would like to see blueprints off the models, and I would be happy to start making a set up - along with some tutorials on working with styrene.

Thanks for the feedback, GhostGuy.

I'm almost finished the blueprints for the Proton Pack and Wand and I wanted to post them here in PDF format.

How do I go about doing that, AJ?

The sheet size is A2, and the first page would make a great wall poster, even if you didn't build from it..

I have attached a low res. JPG file for you to see the detail in the drawings.

great looking SW pack. I should really finish mine up.

One thing I noticed, it looks like the bumper is offset a little bit to the left of center.
That piece was a bitch to make, at least it was for me.

Do you plan on adding cables/hoses?

VERY NICE! I'm very impressed with your work. One thing, though: is the Clippard on the gun too much centered? I mean, shouldn't it be more towards the edge, keeping room for the knob that sits beside it?

Brilliant work my friend!

Killer work! Is there some way to get your 3d pack into collada or obj format?

Hey guys.

Yes, the gun is upside down - I finished up about 1:30am this morning. Thanks for Pointing that out, along with the clippard. I will put hoses in, but as a building reference, it is much cleaner and easier to understand how it goes together without them.

When the pack is finished I can save it in OBJ format, or any other format you'd like for 3D animation.

In the meantime, I have posted the PDFhere for you to use as a reference until I complete the final draft.

argh im so sorry, i dont mean to nit-pic but i just dont want there to be any mistakes in all the hard work you have put into these pictures.....so, please dont hate me when i tell you that the alice frame is too low down. the bottom of it should be roughly the same level as the bumper.

please dont throw things at me haha :(

Not a chance. mate. I appreciate your feedback. Respect.

I don't have the background you guys do - I like the movies , know nothing of RGB, and have precious little time to research the finer points, so I put my work up in the hope fans like you will tell me where I'm going wrong.

The repositioning of alice packs and other parts is simple and not at all time consuming, so pick away.

Stefan's blueprints were a great resource, but I found some of the sheets difficult to follow.
while we don't need another complete set of blueprints, I've used his fabulous drawings as a basis for my own which I'm happy to add to the resource pool.

I've updated the position of the Alice pack and turned the gun around in both the PDF file and the 2nd image on the previous post.

I really do appreciate the feedback and pointers and will be happy to make up a set of PDF files that show the dimensions like Stefan's originals, but also show the part in several orientations to give a good idea of how the part looks in true space.
