The NYC Ghostbusters went dormant for awhile there, but now things have reorganized and we are bigger and better than ever!

We've updated the logo and launched a new site http://www.nycghostbusters.com and have regular been doing events as a larger group (the 30th anniversary art show, various screenings and an all-day location tour).

Here's our updated logo, based on the one originally designed by "Fanboy":

and new patches:

This week we did our second library event (though for most of us it was our first).

Attendees could build a paper toy Stay Puft, handle props, take photos, and even make their own slime (which they got to keep).

We're looking forward to the Halloween Parade, New York Comic Con, the re-release of the film and a number of other events.

If anyone happens to be headed to the NYC area and wants to meet up or lives in the NYC area and would liek to get involved hit us up on our Facebook page (http://www.fb.com/nycghostbusters or get in contact via the site.

New Event:

http://nycghostbusters.com/events/pratt ... ross-talk/

The NYC Ghostbusters will be making a guest appearance at the Pratt Institute Art & Design Fair!

This event will allow participants to view screen accurate props, make their own slime, and participate in other kid-friendly activities. Also available for sale on this special day only will be paintings, photography, jewelry, apparel, and more created by Pratt alumni.

At 4PM Michael C. Gross, the designer of the iconic Ghostbusters logo and a former art director at National Lampoon, will speak at his alma mater Pratt Institute as part of a conversation that will explore the creative practices that led to his success across a broad spectrum of media including magazine, film, television, and fine arts. The event, which is free and open to the public, will draw parallels between Gross’s iconic work and popular culture today—from his work for National Lampoon and the satirical news programs of today to the 30th anniversary of the Ghostbusters logo and its legacy in movie marketing and product development. The conversation will take place with Pratt Film/Video Chair Jorge Oliver.

Unfortunately the only day I'll be able to attend will be Sunday. I do hope to meet some fellow ghostheads there though. If you guys have a specific place that you meet I'll try my best to be there. I have several other groups of friends that will be there and I'm not sure of everyone's plans.
