A friend of mind got me Heavy Metal on VHS from an estate sale. Haven't seen it in years. Guess who's in it? Ivan Reitman directed it, Harold Ramis does one of the voices, and Elmer Bernstein did the music, along with other 80's music and John Candy (who was going to be Louis Tully)

If memory serves me Micheal C Gross and Paul Medjuck were also involved and if the DVD is to be belived the work they did on Heavy Metal was a contributing factor in RBG. Hell look at the skeleton scene in "Knock Knock and all of "B-19". Rodger Rumpass was also a voice actor in Heavy Metal

If you check the credits of the film Heavy Metal you will notice a lot of people who were on SCTV at that time were involved in lending their voices to this film. This film is also Canadian, if I'm not mistaken. So taht would explain Reitman's involvement as well as the SCTV since, SCTV was produced here in Canada.
