Discuss all things Ghostbusters here, unless they would be better suited in one of the few forums below.

I have 3 film cels from the police escort when the Ghostbusters leave the mayor's office, but the cels are from an alternate angle not used in the movie. The screenshot I took (shown below) is the approximate moment these cels were shot and the red arrow points to about where I believe the camera was.

Here is the question. Does anyone know where this shot is used? Was it in a trailer for the movie?

It's cool that you've got the cels.

Whoa, there it is! Thank you clearing that up for me, it has been bugging me all day. After watching the teaser I recognized one other film cel that I have. It's of the clip where the firehouse doors are open to reveal the car.

I'm glad I could help! It's interesting that the cels are letterboxed, instead of being stretched. Was Ghostbusters not shot with an anamorphic lens? I know Ghostbusters II was shot anamorphically, due to the bokeh.

That's a good question. After looking back at what I have it seems like the cels that come from the teaser are letterboxed while the rest from the actual movie are stretched. Interesting.

Just watched Ghostbusters, it clearly starts out shot with an anamorphic lens, but then for the ending it seems to switch to a spherical lens. Did the budget get tight and they had to switch to shooting 2 perforations (like the spaghetti westerns) instead of four? Or maybe it had to do with VFX and composites. I'm completely confused.
