Some might be interested in this paper I found discussing the Duke University mean averaging studies referred to by Egon in Ghostbusters II:

Does anyone think the same as me that Peter in the second scene of the original Ghostbusters was doing an A/B replication of the first Duke University paper discussed above and therefore his methods were not "sloppy" but in tune with contemporary practice? I'm excluding the gender bias of his methodology!
