? I mean, it's probably just a coincidence, but it's quite an odd thing to appear as a trait twice!

No I thought the same thing. . Infact I saw many nods to the video game. The fact that the main villain is a man trying to elevate his way into becoming a God just like Ivo was. The difference is that Ivo was already a Ghost for 70 years before trying to elevate himself. The possessed Parade Floats are a nod to both The Real Ghostbusters and The Deleted Parade Level of The Video Game.

I'm not a huge fan of the video game's plot but I did catch that!

I'm pretty sure it was intentional since there's a lot of stuff from the game thrown in. They even cast someone who looks like the character in the game.
