Discuss the Ghostbusters movie that was released in 2016.

Whether you liked or didn't like the new movie...

Who is your favorite of the new ATC Ghostbusters?

I will start it off. My favorite new character is Erin Gilbert.

-I like the concept of a brilliant mathematician and theoretical physicist who is interested in the paranormal (obvious Egon parallels).

-I like Erin's personality. She is inscure, lacks confidence, and still comes through when the pressure is on.

-Conductors of the Metaphysical Examination. One of the greatest names ever.

-She is enthusiastic. "Ghosts are real! Ghosts are real!"

-She volunteers to talk to the ghost in the mansion. Peter spoke to the Library Ghost, Ray was "chosen" to speak to Gozer.

Anyway that's my 2 cents.

Holtzmann was my favourite prior to seeing the film, and remained my favourite after it had finished. :)

Patty and Abby are both a very close second, with Erin coming up last... although hopefully a sequel will help flesh her out further, though I liked her a lot more compared to how I felt about her at the start of the film, once things started going town in Times Square.

I loved Patty, Erin, Holtzmann and Abby in that order, but it's a close call between Erin and Holtzmann.

Patty's lines about Queens and the nightmare room were great, Erin's burn in hell was awesome, and Holtzmann counting the laws they broke was hilarious. Abby let's go when leaving the laboratory was a great one as well as the follow up on that was a great misdirection: no, you can't come with us, I just want you out of the building.

That might be favorite line, I yearn for a moment to say that to someone in real life, lol.

I'll go with Erin as my favorite new GB as well. I can identify with her frustration at being ridiculed.

Patty is my favorite followed very closely by Erin. I like Patty because she's a historian, and for god's sake WHY did it take so long for someone to think "you know what a ghost hunting team needs, a historian who knows the area they are working in." Seriously, a historian should be one of the first things you look for in a group of ghost specialists.

Holtzman, Patty, Abby and Erin, but it's really not much of a gap in between. They were all relevant to the story and to the team and I loved it. There was no Winston like character that felt left out or not fleshed out.

I gotta agree with OP, Erin was my favorite. I'm not sure if it's the fact that I've always been a fan of Kristen Wiig's style, but she seemed like the most likely I would hang out with in real life. Abby seemed a little bit on the arrogant side, Holtzmann is the most fun and interesting but honestly I would probably be scared of her IRL lol. Patty, much like Erin, seems like the the other I would probably get along with IRL.

Loved all of them for entirely different reasons. I guess my overall favourite is definitely Holtzmann because it is such a relief to see a character that I can wholly identify with.

A great and resounding "Holtzmann". Bizarre, brilliant, and super relatable. The first time I saw the very first trailer, I was in love. I predicted her being the strange-but-sexy one, and I was right but in a way that wasn't what I imagined. From her first "Come here often?" to her solo in the battle to her last eyes-welling-up moment, Holtzmann had me by the heartstrings.

I don't know what humanity did to deserve Kate McKinnon, but we should thank our lucky stars.

I probably shouldn't admit this, but when the ATC trailer came out, I guessed Holtzmann would be my favorite and decided I should get to know the actor playing her a little better. Between the two days of that weekend, I probably watched between nine and ten hours of Kate McKinnon material. SNL, Big Gay Sketch Show, UCB stuff, interviews - everything I could get my hands on. My favorite SNL sketch she's in is Close Encounter, but I watched (Do It On My) Twin Bed and Back Home Ballers the most because I'm a sucker for musical gags.
