Vacuum forming question

Hey guys,

I'm considering attempting to make my own proton pack and was thinking over the logistics of it. If I were to create a vacuum form mold, would I need to compensate for the thickness of the plastic sheet? For example, if I were to use 1/4" plastic sheet with Stefan's plans, would I need to subtract .25" from all of his measurements so that the form will come out right?

Thanks

1/4 plastic is probably thicker than you want to use. Ive used 1/16 ABS plastic with no problems. You have to remember that when the plastic melts and get formed over your buck its going to stretch out the material making is thinner than the original thickness, so you would have to scale the sizing down, but its gonna be tough to determine how much for 1/4 plastic.
