Animatronic Baby Terror Dog

Figured once we got enough of this project done we would post it up. Several years back we purchased a Kota Dinosaur for our son Gavin. We picked it up on Craigslist relatively cheap. From the beginning I had always said "That would make an awesome baby terror dog". So the project was born.
We originally started this project early last year to have it done in time for last Halloween but we ran into some issues and ran out of time to work on it. This year, we aimed to have it done by a Pet Festival charity that we wanted to raise money for.
Our inspiration
Tear down begins
First thing up was the eyes. We of course wanted them red....and to glow. We had to remove the existing eye paint in order keep the pupils and whatnot from shining through. So after we did that, we painted the lids with a hammered silver and the lenses with a red. Came out pretty good.
Lighting was achieved by wiring in 2 LEDs per eye. Very creepy at night.
Since the pet fest was coming up fast, we didn't have time to make a proper skin from the new fabric we picked up.
For the time being, we used fabric paint. After the season we will be having a new skin made. Garree is also working on his baby terror dog and we may end up getting him to make our skin as well.
Kota originally had a fan around her neck since she was a triceratops. We ended removing that section completely and building up the area around the neck.
Painting the horns
Her first outing at the pet fest!
And a video of her in action
The next update will be with her new skin!
