Yeah in order to minimize weight I'm looking at various sizes of jars, and I'm also having a look at plastic jars that use those same types of clips.

some urethane plastic mix with some highlighter pink ink, poured in and let set... so if it drops or latches open it doesn't spill all over you or some other costumer, would look great
Ah, good thinking! Yeah, make the slime rock-hard and then can use either clip, as won't matter if it pops open. Of course it is nice having some actual liquid goo that can flow around, though...!
For my slime I was actually thinking of using using some Phosphorescent glow-in-the-dark paint. Dunno how thick or runny the stuff is yet.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009 ... FL8I47R6EF It's supposed to very bright in daylight, and it also self-illuminates in the dark. (Luminescent paint only glows under ultraviolet light, but phosphorescent paint actually stores the light and re-releases it slowly.) You can "charge it up" even more using ultraviolet light, so I'm also buying a tiny little UV torch for that purpose.
I've also been looking at some other jar alternatives...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/XD-Design-Water ... &s=kitchen A very "modern" design, this water bottle by XD-Design includes a carabiner for clipping onto the belt! It's only 300ml so shouldn't be too big or heavy. And apparently it's made of "Tritan material", a tough transparent plastic that is dishwasher safe, so should be lightweight, and dropping it/knocking it/crushing it shouldn't be a problem.
An actual jar would be more authentic to what we saw in Ghostbusters 2... but I'm thinking that over the years the GBs have started to use more specialised sample containers.
Of course I could always use this water bottle as an actual wearable water bottle! Fill it with blackcurrent squash and then when I get thirsty I drink the slime! Haha. I do want to try my glow-in-the-dark idea, though. (And while there lots of ways to make drinks glow in UV light, I don't think there are any food-safe substances that are properly phosphorescent.)
Some more jar-like alternatives:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00FGOYFLU?psc=1 It's a bit larger at 450ml, though, that may be a bit too big. Also only has a single one-star review complaining that it leaked! Hmm.
And here's another...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Aladdin-Drinks- ... roduct_top This one is 350ml, might be a better size, and several positive reviews, though one notes that it can leak unless the top is screwed very tightly. Unfortunatley it has a bright purple lid... I haven't been able to find a version that doesn't have a brightly-coloured lid or logos or patterns on the bottle! Grrr!
At the moment I'm leaning towards the the first bottle, the "modern" 300ml one by XD-Design.
