I like Winston's paycheck.

The classified ad makes me remember a passage from the novelization where Winston is at his mother's house for dinner and she makes him read the want ads.



Also, I checked one of the scripts online and there's dialogue where Winston even says the ad in the paper was very vague.



Anyway, the more obscure wording from the novel would satisfy my 'continuity' brain better than Janine's questionnaire for applicants does.

On the whole, some nice fleshing out of the known GB universe.

I've always likes the Richard Mueller novelization (it was actually the first "adult" novel I ever read when I was six). That particular scene with Winston at home show's off the book's rather excellent prose and third person limited narrative.
