LOL, Peter must have taught that gesture to the Gulper Ghost.

It's more disturbing that Erik is using an actual legend than making one up from scratch, imo. Loved the nod to Volume 2.

I guess this means when they get to Iceland, they're gonna have to do some serious scuba-diving for that legend.

Not necessarily, Egon said the book was returned to the hidden tomb. We might get some Indiana Jones-action, imo.

Hopefully they don't get caught near Eyjafjallajokull (And yes, I spelled it off the top of my head).

It's already the 24th for me here in New Zealand. Which means that by the time the issue is available, it will be the 26th for me and the 25th for most of you. I gotta wait approx 2-3 days for an issue to come my way. It's so frustrating.

I feel so sorry for the priceless works of art. They were just innocent bystanders used as puppets.

Got my copy of issue #5 this past Saturday. Really enjoyed reading it, especially Egon's interest in the Rauoskinna legend. Never would have guessed that he created the P.K.E. Meter in the early 1970's to help him possibly locate it.

Really enjoyed seeing the Ghost Taser finally get used, and it was great to see some references to The Real Ghostbusters episode "The Ghostbusters in Paris". Got a big kick out of the Haunted America prose story too, they really add a nice flavor to this series.

I am really enjoying this arc. :). I am really excited to see the potential Easter eggs that could be snuck into issue # 7 given the Ghostbusters rich history with Irish Spirits. :):):)

I wouldn't mind seeing Sluagh, a Kelpie, Ellén Trechend, a Questing Beast, a fear gorta, Púca, some Fetch for good fun, and the Oilliphéist.

GBI #7 Haunted America case takes place in Las Vegas (if the cover was indication enough) and will feature the return of a Doc Shaner easter egg. Erik is currently writing the case and also working on GBI #8.

Burnham also has an idea in mind for a cameo of The Real Ghostbusters.

Dan Schoening also strongly hinted Erland Vinter is visually based on Ed Begley, Jr.

EDIT 6/13: May sales are in. Ghostbusters International #5 did 6882 units in sales. Unfortunately, sales for #4 have been omitted.

6/17: Just a head's up, but GBI #6 is being released on June 29. Not the 22nd anymore. 29th. So yes, GBI #6 and the first GBI trade paperback release on the same day now.

9 issues, crikey. How's that compare to Mass Hysteria?

In the past, Erik has hinted the current storyline in GBI will be basically a year long arc. So it definitely surpassed Mass Hysteria which was only 8 parts.

All good stuff to hear, considering things started out with (at most) four-issue stories. :)

I checked out the previews from Spook Central's Facebook page, and I was very impressed with Rachel Stott's artwork.
Another thing that I enjoyed as Mr. Michael pointed out was that Eduardo has apparently been teaching Kylie some Spanish when he helps out at Ray's Occult Books. It figures that he would teach her a phrase like that. Speaking of Eduardo, I hope that he shows up again in the near future, since he is my favorite character from Extreme Ghostbusters.

@ *referring to bold*

Other than his "Maybe he's dead" catchphrase, Eddie's an okay character.

Although I would love to see Roland and Garrett make a debut (at least their IDW counterparts); the former is my favorite EGB character.

As much as I think Dan's artwork is perfect for GB, it's refreshing to see someone else take the helm for a little bit. Is Rachel only doing one issue?

Rachael will be also on #7 and then Dan will be back.
EDIT: I looked at the post below mine. My bad, I thought she was doing more than one issue.

She's only doing one issue.

From the Crossrip Podcast #227
*2:17:32: Erik Burnham revealed he also wasn't allowed to use Slimer like how he was utilized on The Real Ghostbusters
*2:27:10: Burnham wrote Insight's Tobin's Spirit Guide to function with the IDW Comics canon
*2:29:37: Wanted to sneak Samhain in International but ran out of room. Still wants to use him.
*2:20:16: Some dramatic stuff coming up
*2:20:32: Towards the end of Issue #7, there will be a 'sympathetic, emotional scene with Walter Peck'

Three words by Peck will make some of our more emotional readers well up.

Just three words.

"I will not."
