The popular theory thus far is Tiamat returning -- and that certainly makes sense, given the "chaos" tweet. Her re-appearance would hopefully include a more satisfying resolution than the previous arc and maybe tie up some open questions:
• does anything/anyone aside from future "Fright Feature" Ghostbusters travel through time? • how did Vigo and Scoleri Brothers get out? • who was Tiyah's weird friend? • did anything else escape the grid during venting? • where's the Goze at?
Nonetheless, I can't help but get hung up on some of the elements from the preview for issue #2. Coma Peter starts off in a dark space and approaches a door... just like with the hungry manitou. The entity makes reference to making Peter comfortable... just like the hungry manitou. The vision of Dana resembles Peter's earlier memories, not the older and short-haired Dana Tiamat possessed.
None of that excludes Tiamat's involvement. If anything, spreading some escaped spirits around from a containment breach sounds like her thing. But I'm wondering if what Peter is encountering in his coma is her or an earlier adversary he beat soundly with psychology.
I may be reading too much into the visuals. Tiamat's incursions into people's heads always occurred against a sort of cosmic purple backdrop, but that might not be a hard and fast rule. Maybe using the dark void space was just an aesthetic decision based on Peter's condition. Maybe its even part of another "psyche-out."

Either way, I guess we'll know soon enough.

Yeah I am totally with you there. I love how this event has got us all talking and trying to figure out what the next big twist could be.
Now Erik tweeted that he didn't want to spoil anything. However there are a lot of hints that point to Tiamat. I have no doubt that she is involved, but I was wondering if Tiamat and the escaped Ghosts from the grid were again just the tip of the iceberg.

Hope that Peter is okay, seeing him the hospital again had me worried. I would not be surprised if this is the Schenectady Entity messing with him again. Very pleased that Crossing Over #2 is out this week, rather than next. Between this and Batman/ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #6 I am in for some fun reading this week.

Mixed feelings myself. IDW's Disney line has been logjammed due to illness in Disney's approval office...well, it looks like the dam has burst and there's three overdue Disneys coming out this week along with Crossing Over and some other stuff I buy. My wallet will not be happy this week.

groschopf wrote: ↑April 16th, 2018, 9:41 am • how did Vigo and Scoleri Brothers get out?
I was under the impression that Tiamat freed Vigo out of the painting to test the Ghostbusters and observe their tactics. The Scoleri Brothers, I admit, can be open ended. Did she pull them from the unit somehow, did Vigo create echoes or copies of them once he got juiced up on Hart Island, did they previously escape during Ghostbusters: The Video Game or Ghostbusters: Infestation?
• who was Tiyah's weird friend?
Kas, the mother of the 'prime' and SOS universe's Bridget Gibbons.
• where's the Goze at?
Tiamat did say Gozer would recover and continue its quest of going dimension to dimension destroying planets. So presumably, business as usual back on schedule.

VTC #17 is RGB Ray. Page from CO #2. Janine shushing the Busters and the coloured version of the derp-slap Peter gets from her. I feel a little bit hopeful from seeing Waltz's caption about Janine "ALWAYS being in charge." Especially the emphasis he put on the "always." Then again, I'm also expecting an epic ass-pull to happen over time, as much as I'm sick of those.
Love seeing what degrees these RGB versions have. heh.

Actually, looks like a page from #3 -- sometimes he combines promotions - the WIP Tom posted of the smack was from #3 and it looks like the previous page was the SOS team asking if the teleportation unit can time travel since they're from a dimension where their GBs are older. Something Erik hinted at for #3.
Looks like Jenny comes with a new flightsuit for her corporeal form. Knowing Dan, has to be a nod to someone. I think the Alberta/Calgary Ghostbuster, Candace has a similar flightsuit.

It looks like a callback to her Ghost Smashers uniform to me. Also, I can't wait to see Janine's card. Or if any of her counterparts have a card too.

July solicits are out. Crossing Over #5
A headless horseman. A haunted brewery. The complicated nature of temporal mechanics across the dimensions. The Ghostbusters can handle all of that, no sweat. But a sinister force is on the horizon, one they barely survived before, and at a great personal sacrifice. Tiamat made a deal to leave the Ghostbusters' earth... but what's the fun of being a god of chaos if you can't find a few loopholes? Mass Hysteria is in full effect as CROSSING OVER continues!
Well, we can all finally say it....Big T is officially gonna bring the multi-dimensional roof down!!!!
Seriously? The only pages of Janine's future-fretting were all in the preview only? C'mon, Sony, lighten up already!
So the Dana in Peter's head is actually NOT Ray's Guide, but HIS (Peter's) Guide instead. Are they? If so, interesting. This could mean that each Prime GB has their own Spirit Guide, although Janine has had a visit from Ray's one. Egon's could be the Queen herself, Marie Laveau? *cheeky fate-tempting grin* Winston's already got God's guidance, but who's to say that he'll have a Guide too?
Jenny was awesome. If Peter can't remember the Dana Guide's dream conversation, then she can. Jumping into heads like that to assist internal battles, good thing she's a GB ally, cos this skill better be useful in future issues (And arcs! *side-eyes Sony*) EDIT: Never mind.

Main Story
FIREHOUSE
Erik keeps coming up with ways for me/us to HATE Ron even more. I wish Winston... ergh!
But nice touch to pick up on Holtzmann's speech to the others at the end of the ATC movie.
"They can't overcharge you anymore." lmao, Janine. And calling Peter a cockroach. haha! But yes! Janine is hesitant because she's not a bureaucrat and rule-driven like Peck. Totally agree with that.
Okay, so the Containment Unit will explode and take out New York at least. 20/20 hindsight, this sorta backs up Ray's mention they should look into off-site storage. If they had a secondary unit (granted the one in the Ecto-2 RV is empty), then in theory, they could have just transferred the sufficient amount into the main unit -- end-o-problem. Eh, but I guess, depending on what left the unit, should they bother to recapture or not.
Gareth Dibello. Not that was a "fun" one. "Messy... ?" lmao. Cringed to see part of his arm. But I guess post-101, they figured out how to prevent the same debacle and properly disposed of that ectoplasm off-screen.
THE MENTAL REALM
Count me on the same boat as Jenny. I'm really skeptical if that's another spirit guide like Ray's. Gozer did mess with Ray using his form during Mass Hysteria. She could have been Tiamat manipulating them towards continuing their interdimensional explorations with reverse psychology like Jenny called her out on. Not sure until I saw the #5 solicit but take in mind, Winston's sacrifice was that Tiamat would leave their dimension. The deal didn't cover all the other dimensions. Got a feeling Tiamat have a presence there as the Ghostbusters search for the ghosts. Upsetting the balance and creating interdimensional chaos sounds like something up Tiamat's alley.
But on the flip side, still interested what these "predators" are -- although at the same time that got a "Really?" at the introduction of more characters and expanding on the science of dimensions. Shrug. Safe to say we'll see them in later issues of the arc.
PAGE 20
OMG. All those teams... if I hadn't seen Get Real #2 and those portals and remembered these are some of the same ones -- I'd be even more worried about Dan's sanity. Especially the NES sprites. Surprised to see the team from Slimer! - as even Dan rarely references that show. But hey. EGBs, Melanie, SOS team, Chicago team, Mike and Robobuster!!! Yes. Touched to see Kevin Tanaka in there. Eh, he was probably just happened to be walking across the room. His ability to move boxes is surely an important skill in this arc. And c'mon, does he have like 10 of those blue shirts in his closet.

Janine's Memo
RGB, nice! Loved seeing what differences got highlighted on this memo, some of which have come up on the Virtual Trading Cards; some not like a nod to Cait Banner from GB 101.
Loved it was mentioned the RGB had no hiatus between Gozer and Vigo like the prime universe. I'm sure it was long speculated by fans but it's something I also concluded once I started thinking about continuity for the wiki.
Laughed at the nod to the "cartoon-like effect" and revisiting the discussion from Get Real #2 about an in-universe explanation for Dan's easter eggs.

Good point about Red hook. The warehouse is already in-universe and would make sense.
I still think the Sunoco idea would be logical since it's not in the five boroughs and would limit damage in case of a breach (and fairly or not, it sets up a slew of cheapshots aimed at New Jersey that the cartoon loved to make). They could hold entities in the central location for a while, then get a converted dump truck to transport cargo over to the offsite storage facility.
Side note: putting their entire operation and sleeping quarters on top of a potential psychokinetic geyser/bomb may have been a serious design flaw in the firehouse layout.

It definitely adds a dimension to their relationship. If I was Abby, I'd be a green-eyed monster too. Like, "This hussy not only knows the same stuff as me, but so much more?! And how dare she actually have a brain to make equipment based on that knowledge! I would've thought of that in kindergarten! Aargh!" Anime fans would call her a tsundere Just had a thought. Sadly, I can see this as one area the IDW Egon and RGB Egon are consistent with each other to some extent. I think about the time RGB Egon fell off the World Trade Center in "The Boogeyman Is Back" and suppressed the trauma..and of course it drove him nuts and allowed the Boogeyman to come back. I hope IDW Egon comes to terms with it before something similar or worse happens.

To that, if you're a member of IDW's Ghostheads United Facebook group, Erik added to the #4 thumbnail news by hinting more at what's in the issue, who's on who's team and revealed one of the thumbnails. Out of context, the thumb looks it deals with this very issue brought up about Egon and death.
