Announced by Erik Burnham, Insight Editions will be releasing a new abridged version of Tobin's Spirit Guide by Dr. Spengler and Dr. Stantz. So far only Erik Burnham and Kyle Hotz (a reunion of sorts from Ghostbusters: Infestation) are attached to the project. It is slated for a 2016 release.
This dynamic in-universe book takes fans inside the world of Ghostbusters like never before. In the first Ghostbusters movie, Tobin’s Spirit Guide is a comprehensive supernatural encyclopedia used by our heroes to research ghouls and ghosts. For the first time, this fully illustrated tome will allow fans to pore through the pages of this legendary guide to learn all about the things that go bump in the night—from Class 5 Free-Roaming Vapors to giant Sloars!
Along with covering the original movies, Ghostbusters: Tobin’s Spirit Guide will also explore the expanded Ghostbusters universe, delving into supernatural phenomena from the comics, animated shows, video games, and other aspects of the franchise. Presented from the point of view of fictional writer J. H. Tobin and filled with never-before-seen original illustrations, the book will have a unique in-world aesthetic that makes it feel like a real object from the world of Ghostbusters.
Absorbing, immersive, and an essential purchase for fans, Ghostbusters: Tobin’s Spirit Guide is the ultimate guide to the franchise’s rogues’ gallery of spirits, specters, demons, and ghouls.
The front cover has shown up on Amazon's pre-order page (see above post)
And the Amazon date was pushed to June 14, 2016 so that means the general release should be June 1, 2016. But it would be cool if they could get June 8, 2016 for the general release date.
Kyle Hotz posted a preview of the Zombie Taxi Driver for the guide. Also, in the comments section, he seems to hint the cover on Amazon won't be the final version.
Alright bear with me here, i'm completely new to this insight editions thread, now is this something I can order from a comic book store? Do I need to order online from Amazon or non selling comic book store? Please help a brother out. Thank you

That's a hard question to answer. Some comic book stores will bend over backwards for you and order it. Some don't care about you at all. The June solicits aren't out until April so then we'd have an order code for the shop to use. You can try and ask one of your local shops now.
It is on Amazon for pre-order now. Insight will have it on their own website soon, probably.

I won't get my copy until later this month. How big was it? About the size of the IDW hardcover collections for the ongoing?
I received my copy yesterday, and I was surprised and how nice quality it is for only $11 (amazon prime). It will make a great table piece for conventions!

Maybe half of one, but for some reason, I thought it would be smaller... I might be alone in this thought... LOL
