As I told oldhope above, if people aren't in the line for the panel, they're already in the room waiting through many panels till theirs starts. I've only gone to two panels each year. You really do have to pic the ones you really want to see and stick to them. At night they do film screenins like for the Green Latern cartoon Thrusday night. Those lines also form very early.
So what would be a good leadway to get there? an hour? 30mins? Since I 'really' want to see the Mythbusters panel I'll turn up 2 hours early if need be.

Go to the area upstairs when you first get there Saturday. Just ask the people working at the door of that panel room if they know of a line forming or when a line will be allowed to form. Regularly go back and check. I didn't and missed out on the MST3K 20th anniversary reunion panel and will forever kick myself.

3.5 more days to go!

So far, still no scheduled Ghostbusters related events/panels (other than two panels talking about 80s action figures).

Anyone want to set up a hang out day and time? As I said before, I need to schedule what costume to bring on which day. On Friday, I'm meeting with some Sam & Max fans (so I'm wearing my Sam suit that day). Thursday or Sunday, I'm going to see Scott Campbell (that means my Psychonauts costume).

I really want to meet other Ghostbuster fans (I'm annoying people at home and work talking about the movies and cartoon all the time)...

EDIT:
I forgot to ask, do I need to check in with security because of my Proton Pack? I could probably see people mistaken it for a bomb... (But why would someone have such a large one strapped to their back in plain sight?) ^^;
#143249
Nope, never had to check in a pack. I can only assume because it's so far off from looking like a real gun. Just don't pull your wand out for every pick. I don't think there is going to be any big meet up. We'll be in our AZ logo shirts wondering around most days, just look for us.
#143366
Man last year they had the GB video game booth and like 20 people with packs walking around with no problems.

I'm hoping to hear some talk about GB3 this year at the con and again I will be posting pics of it when I get back.

That settles it. Thursday is a definite Ghostbuster day for me.

I'll keep an eye out for all of you (although, I have a feeling you guys would spot me easier)!

Shit, my bad. FRIDAY is when we will be arriving.

While my group is perusing the con, I have bunches of free seats in the Ecto. How should we be in contact? Twitter? Phone numbers, ideas?

I weighed the pros and cons of bringing which costume tomorrow. The Ecto won me over.

I'm cool with phones. Sending you a PM right now.

I'll update my post if I find more (I really don't like searching through seas of photos...), but if any of you find any please give us links!

Guys! I need help!

I'm hosting an outdoor screening in Hollywood of Ghostbusters this weekend (on Saturday the 1st!) and on top of having some of you guys come watch it with me, I definitely want some Ghostbusters in costume there!

I talked to some guys Saturday down at Comic Con and he told me that Los Angeles had a local Ghostbuster chapter of fans who've made costumes and gotten together.

I'd love to have these guys come out and enjoy the movie with us and hang out but have no idea how to contact them.

If you know how or want to come by in costume, e-mail me: jonathan@geekscape.net

I was blown away by some of the custom work I saw in San Diego this weekend and would love to meet more of you guys Saturday but need some help in contacting them!

Here's a few more photos, but from my own camera.

Everyone waiting for the car. A few people were joking around thinking it wasn't coming. Or that some guy was going to run down the road with an Ecto-1 costume on (transformers style, anyone?). XD

Of course, when it did come, I took many photos of it. This one is my favorite.

Who cares about the celebrities, these were the Top 3 people at the Con. (Ignore the father and son in the background. I guess they wanted to be in the awesome picture too.)

On my drive home, I noticed I had one Twinkie left (I was giving them out to fellow Ghostbusters at the Con before supposedly running out). Insert Twinkie joke here.

No, no. It's my fault. I should have introduced myself. But I really didn't know anyone and everyone was all happily chatting with each other, I didn't want to interrupt anyone's conversations. ^^; Plus, I was a bit occupied taking photos of your car!

Oh, and thanks for the correction, BJ. ^^

I haven't gotten all of our pics yet but I'll post a few I have plus a few flickr finds. 5 of our team members went. Myself and our team Captain Matt Haynes geared up for awhile on Friday and Saturday. We all also wore other costumes we had throughout the weekend. We met up with Ectoglow, Dr.Spengs and his girlfriend, Cythusly, EgonSpengler1701, and Seishin_Kibou. We met up with some other GB fans but we didn't get their names in our brief meetings. It was great meeting that we did and hopefully next year there will be an organized meetup.

Yes! Jeff and Matt! You guys are from Phoenix!

I talked to you guys a bit outside the convention center looking for a local Ghostbusters chapter in LA! You guys recommended I Google something and I completely forgot what it was! How can I find local Ghostbusters to hang out with? I'm new to 'busting!

To jog your memory, here's a picture of me getting on a Ninja Turtles Bus at the Con:

I wish I saw you guys in your outfits~ I was so lost in the convention and I kept getting stopped on Friday for photos. [I was Transformers:Animated Bumblebee] and on the Saturday I was in another outfit but mainly upstairs getting through all the Mythbusters signings and panel.

It was nice to meet you Jettajeffro  Shame you got called away too soon =( Would of been nice to have had more of a chat =)

I saw two guys on the Thursday, not sure if they're on this forum but here's a picture of them with me.

Sorry I missed your post. I believe we told you to google GBfans and here you are. You can check the fans section of the site as well as the regional section of the boards. I believe there are quite a few busters around LA.

I'm glad one of these pics showed up. I didn't get any of my own.
