I am reading and reading through these wonderful build threads. I see the enormous amount of assistance that everyone gets from the community during the process and I think that is just great. So, I thought that I should start mine. I'm at the very early stages of the build, the gathering stage. So let's start it off with what I've gathered so far.

From The Community

Crix's Resin HERO Pack Parts - http://www.gbfans.com/community/viewtop ... 06#p460206

KCGhostbuster's Bumper and Booster Frame - http://www.gbfans.com/community/viewtop ... 31&t=35209 (Not pictured, still in the mail)

From Ebay - Not sure about links to Ebay so I'll just list the parts for now.

GHOSTBUSTERS 1 ION ARM
Clippard Brass Elbow Barb GB1
GB1 Ribbon Cable + Clamp
LC-1 Alice Pack (Wrong straps, will be on the search for more accurate ones but this will do for now.)

I believe that is it for parts so far. I am new to this type of thing. I don't even own a drill or dremel yet, but it's on the list of things to buy or borrow from friends. As much as I want this to be..BAM, it's done and it is GREAT!...it won't be. I still need to get more pieces and do a lot more research to feel comfortable with what I am doing. Each time I lay the parts down I go "Oh wait, I still need to get one of those or a few of those. There has been some amazing builds on here that make me salivate. If I even get 60% close to some of those I think I will be happy. Will my build be accurate? As much as I would like it to be, I know my skill set and level of expertise, so I am doubtful that it will be. Please feel free to jump in and stop me from doing something completely wrong if you see that.

I will update with new parts as I find them or when they come in. Hopefully I can start putting things together soon.

Parts I'm looking for

Legris Straight Fitting Replica / Similar or Real
Legris Banjo Replica Fitting Replica / Similar or Real
Metal Bellows
Dale RH-50 Resistor

PM sent.

For the first stage 100% accuracy is not a concern. Look is #1, then I will upgrade parts to accurate parts as I find them or as the budget allows.

Which style? The GB2 top screw washer style or the screen accurate GB1 style? I need the latter!

As of now, the GB2 style. I want the GB1 style as well, but whatever I find will do until I can replace it for GB1.

You do know the bellows in GB1 and GB2 were the same, it's just the GB2 had the bolt through the top whereas the GB1 was mounted from beneath the bumper?

Unless you're reffering to the semi hero bellow which was resin cast from the GB1 bellow.

I can always be wrong. I was under the impression that the GB1 style bellows was a true bellow that was one piece and that the GB2 was a stylized bellow that was comprised of multiple pieces. Again, I can and usually am wrong.

Are you going to eventually put on an aluminum N filter? I don't have any experience with that but I will be. It looks like it may be easier to cut the moulded one off now before you paint and weather your shell.

My ambitious mind says "Yes!! Everything must be aluminum parts eventually" but the real me says "Once it is done you will never touch it again." So, at this point, I don't know and don't have an answer. Right now I have decided that I don't want to weather it. If it happens naturally, fine, but I really like the clean, brand new look. That idea may change as well.

Nope, the hero packs in GB1 and GB2 were essentially the same pack, just in GB2 they added a few cosmetic differences. Both these models of packs used an actual bellow.

The GB2 semi heroes used a resin cast of the bellows from the heroes pack, so if you're not that fussed on using actual metal parts you can use a resin cast and paint it up and it'll do just the job.

Thanks for that info (Love the wealth of knowledge this community has)

New question that I've been searching. The Red & Blue tubing that attaches to the Injector tubes is connected using Clippard Hose Barbs. But how do the other ends connect? From what I've found it appears that you just drill out and feed them through holes in the shell. Is this correct? Sorry if this is common knowledge but I couldn't locate a definitive answer.

Were you able to pick up all your electronics today?

Not from personal knowledge, only from reading build threads. I've seen both methods if I'm not mistaken. But the last thread I recall reading was something about just drilling the holes and feeding it through in case you snag them on something. (Was that in Alex's build?) I need to start writing stuff down.

Tonight I called over a friend who actually owns tools and we attached the Motherboard. Using the instructions from kind2311 in this thread (http://www.gbfans.com/community/viewtop ... 42&t=11972) It was easier than expected.

Laying out the Brackets

Drilling the first set of holes

Inserting the Rivets

Drilling into the shell (This was scary)

Tapping the holes

And she is mounted

Turned out to be easier than I expected but I had help from someone who had experience with this type of thing before so....It's good to have friends I guess.

Today was a good mail day. My GBFans Pack Light kit arrived along with almost everything else needed to finish the pack. I think this weekend may be a huge update on my build. Hopefully nothing gets in my way or disrupts my plans. Should be fun.

I picked up some foil labels from onlinelabels.com and printed out a foil set at work today. I think they turned out just fine.

Took the photos with my phone. They look better in person and I may take better shots once I get home.

I am using the same labels and they do look great once they are on the parts. My shell should arrive tomorrow, man I cannot wait. Your build is looking GREAT!!! I am anxious to see how it turns out.
