I saw that many of the sound effects from the game have been put up on the board. I was wondering if I could make a strange request for some more -- if anyone could possibly make available some sounds like walking, jogging and sprinting with the pack, and maybe some ghostly sounds other than Slimer.

If you search the forum, I think GhostGuy posted pretty much everything from the game a few months back. I used his links for all the Spilled Milk sound effects.

Actually, I only posted a fraction of the sound effects in the game. There's literally hundreds of sounds. The sounds I posted do include the foley for the player running around, but don't include any ghosts.

Also, I won't have time this week to rip any more sounds out, and I don't know how many ghost sounds there might be. If you have the game, your best bet would be to find that thread... I think it was stickied... and download the tools to rip the sounds yourself. I provided detailed instructions how to do it. You rip the sounds with one app, and then you create a batch file, to convert them all to wavs with another app.

Well, looks like I may be okay on the walking sounds -- I have a digital 8 track recorder that i used to grab some of the footfalls off of a youtube walk thru of the Ghostbusters video game -- and created my own series of walking, jogging and running sounds wearing the pack. However I might still need some other sounds like random ghosts and such.. no hurry though.

Im working on a simple audio project using Ghostbusters as the theme -- its a "learn-as-you-go" type project. Once Im finished I will more than likely post it here on the boards -- you Ghostheads would appreciate it more than anyone.

In case anyone else was curious (like me), here are the instructions as laid out by GhostGuy:
GhostGuy wrote:I don't know whether these are new or not, but I did a whole lot of googling and following various links on forums and finally arrived at this tool to extract them:
http://assassin.turfster.be/

Then I did a whole bunch more googling and found this to process .smp files, which is supposedly some kind of Winamp codec:
http://hcs64.com/vgmstream.html

I downloaded the latest version in the directory and followed the instructions, but I couldn't get it to work with Winamp at all whether the dlls were in the plugin directory or in the Winamp directroy. Luckilly the downloaded also included test.exe, a command line convertor, which required the following ogg vorbis dlls in the directory with it:
http://hcs64.com/files/vgmstream_external_dlls.zip

I then tested that out, and it worked, but it could only convert one file at a time, and I wasn't about to type in every filename by hand, but I remembered back in my DOS days that there are commands you can use in batch files to perform an operation on all files of a certain type in a directory.

So, using a reference page on Microsoft's website and after a whole bunch of trial and error because they don't make it obvious enough that batch file variables need two % signs while variables used from the command line require only one, I finally came up with this, which you can just stick in a batch file and execute to have it perform the operation on all .smp files in a sound\ subdirectory and put the resulting wavs in a wav\ subdirectory, both of which you'll need to create in advance:

for %%F in (sound\*.smp) do test.exe -o wavs\%%~nF.wav %%F
I was hoping to start a little project of my own, so for noobs like me, this info is invaluable. I may be several months late to the party, but thanks again GhostGuy.

I hate to resurrect a dead thread, but this is the exact same question I have. I have the audio files you ripped but I was not able to find the running/walking foley in any of the files. I was wondering if anybody had come up any, or would have any available? Thanks!
