Discuss the Ghostbusters movie that was released in 2016.

I saw the reboot last night, and in regards to the "youtube comment" part-scenes (as they were two short segments of two longer scenes), they were there for a moment and then the plot moved on. The original article Montclair posted made them out to be bigger/longer/more significant than they actually were, and there isn't really anything to worry about.

"Wikipedia".

You're correct though, there's too much unverified stuff, or stuff getting overblown.

And too many people willing to accept it (even when they likely know it's wrong) just to support their opinion.

There's just so much hate towards this movie, that some people well do anything to watch it burn. It's crazy really!

What hurts the most is that Ghostbusters got wrapped into this stupid war between Men vs Women.

I just wanted more Ghostbusters. :(

Also, if you don't want to be called an idiot or asshole, don't act like one.
Should we all feel the new movie is a cinematic masterpiece as you do?

What sick ass is surprised by this? They are trying to maximize profit, they are trying to exploit. Don't play along along. GB2016 is not real GB.
The whole thing is like Scooby-Doo mixed with a porn parody of Ghostbusters.

Humour is subjective as we all know.

As Wiig would say probably up every crack.

If you actually paid attention you 'd already know I gave it a 7/10. Hardly a cinematic masterpiece.

This is getting tiresome dude.
You seem to come here once a week to spam all the threads, sometimes with triple posts and either shit on the movie (we get it already) and/or quote me and try to belittle me by putting words in my mouth.

You seem to think it's still worth the effort, but I'm done spending time to such childish remarks.

Well you did the unforgivable on the Internet, man! You attempted to be optimistic about something. Everyone knows that's a no no. It requires too much guts. ;)

Childish remarks? I'm not comparing Feig's work to avant-garde cinema am I? So what if I come here once a week, why is that a problem to you? I do not spam all the threads, I read through as many posts and threads as I can in the little time I have and respond. Got a problem with that?

Considering the guy has done nothing but stand up for Paul Feig's ideas regardless of how bad they are makes me wonder if he actually is a Ghostbusters fan or maybe he's just a Paul Feig fan? I mean he sees Feig as the second coming.

I agree. As someone who thoroughly enjoyed the movie, I'm not oblivious to it having multiple glaring issues. That being said, I don't think the few remarks about internet trolling is even on the list of issues.

Well, yes, because it clouds your judgement as you simply don't seem to have the online time to immerse yourself in the debates. It seems to downgrade you to making one note potshots at people liking the movie, when you are not just calling the movie a disgrace for the umpteenth time, or promoting piracy by saying you are looking for the movie online.

Take the Avant-Garde thing for example as you keep referring to it in multiple posts.
I reminded someone Avant Garde excists when he said a movie should be a work of art and not a political statement.
I told him Avant-Garde is art AND has a political statement.

Somehow this remark needs to be recalled over and over by you as if it's some weird thing to remark upon.

Other times you seem to think I believe GB16 is the best movie of all times when I reviewed it giving it a 7/10 and remarked on it's faults multiple times. Seeing as you don't have the time to read or remember those posts, your constant remarks on my character are very uninformed and childish as it seems you have some personal grudge against me for liking the movie or Feigs stance on female equality.

Exactly. I liked the movie as well, but there are actual issues and problems with it. The internet trolling thing is not one of them.

Besides, that scene was very realistic. There are many videos on YouTube of real events and in the comments you see "Fake!"

It does happen.

Being on here once a week does not cloud my judgement. I come here once a week and that is ok for me. Just because I don't find this an excellent movie like you have since it was announced doesn't mean you need to complain about me being a bad influence.

Alpha I'm not the type of person who normally points out in public when someone is making OTT remarks because they liked a director's previous work. However, you cannot criticise my attitude towards the reboot movie when you are essentially comparing Feig's works to Citizen Kane. That immediately invalidates your arguments because of your bias. That's like me saying The Force Awakens is destined to be like a fantastic piece of art for the centuries because the director JJ Abrams (whose previous work is shaky at best) is directing the movie. I like Sam Raimi as much as the next person but even I would say he's not perfect. You must see what I'm getting at.

I apologise. I do remember you saying on at least one occasion you thought the new movie was a 7/10. Maybe deep down inside you do have a bias towards Paul Feig because you enjoyed his previous work, no problems there as we're all like that but it doesn't come across that you really gave GB2016 a 7/10. I'm not saying you should be miserable and not optimistic but even die-hard fans can see when they've been tricked by a studio so it's good to maintain some healthy skepticism.
