I know it says to use an 8 ohm speaker with the amplified sound board I ordered but I was wondering if I could use a 4 ohm speaker by itself or do I absolutely need to use an 8 ohm or have 2 4 ohm speakers? I tried searching but it seems like everyone uses 2 4ohms. Thank you very much guys and sorry if it's a dumb question.

You'll be fine with a single 4 ohm. If you wanted to install (2) 4-ohm speakers, you should wire in series for 8-ohms (not in parallel for 2-ohms).
