I feel fairly certain the movie characters are safe. The end of Volume 2 pretty much screamed "NOTHING OF SIGNIFICANCE WILL REALLY HAPPEN TO ANYONE IN THIS SERIES BECAUSE SONY WON'T LET IT!!!" RGB Egon for the same reasons, plus it would really screw up the animated timeline, wouldn't it?

Kylie is the most notable character with a chance of being knocked off. She's based off an animated character, but isn't actually the same Kylie as on TV.

More likely, it'll be one of the IDW-created characters. Jenny is at the top of the list due to her big screw-up; I could see her nobly sacrificing herself to "Make it right" though Ortiz is always a strong possibility too.

No matter, it's going to hurt some--since none of the characters I wouldn't care about getting killed (Ron, the Rookie, or Louis) are involved in this battle. (And Louis and probably the Rookie would have the same "immunity" as the main five).

I disagree any of the GB are in mortal danger. It'd be a crime if Erik didn't execute the 'immortal big bad turns out to be killable' trope and we see the last of Loftur in the finale. If anything, they'll strike a deal with the Devil. Safe passage to Earth and Egon for Loftur and the Rauoskinna. Jenny will be 'marked' for reading the spell in the same way Ray is which have ramifications down the line, imo, i.e. having been targeted in the first arc in the ongoing. Killing a good guy is too easy, let them live and keep on suffering.

Oh yeah! Between what happens at the end of this Arc and Whatever that Banshee wants that Peter made a deal with. We could be in for a bigger ride in the future. The Devil is going to be a hard act to follow, but I welcome whatever comes next.

I almost told you the other day that your list was incomplete. Now that it's out, I'm telling you: your list was incomplete. I've known for months who dies and it's been killing me. I also knew what happens after said death.

Just read it. SPOILER TIME!:

WOW. Just wow. Loftur Thorsteinsson DID die when looking for the book, but struck a deal with the Devil (Who is his appearance based on? Brad Pitt? Mark Hamill? I wish Dan had drawn him as Peter Steele from Type O Negative) to not die, so that he could continue looking for the book. It all folded back on him really fast, thanks to Jenny.

I KNEW Aibell, the Faerie Queen, would make her return. Surprise, surprise, she wants the book! Of course, being fairer than Loftur and the Devil, she gave Egon back first. It's so nice to see Janine happy, but it's JUST not enough, arrrgh. Janine has learnt her lesson about not kissing Egon in public. And I'm not happy.

And then Peter gives Aibell the book like the dope he is. Then Jenny destroys it like a boss. And Aibell disintegrates her. Took me a while to realize that Jenny had destroyed the book, due to having just woken up. Anyhow, we've got ourselves a death. Congrats, Fritz, you were bang on the money. I'm not patting myself on the back, because, like theweecrow, not only did I know someone would die, I knew who it would be all along.

As usual, she assumes Peter tried to cheat her out of their deal, Peter goes psychologist on her and Aibell promptly rage-quits and sends them all, minus Jenny, back home to Winston, who's happy to see IDW/movie Egon again.

Ray realizes Jenny is gone and is devastated, but then Jenny becomes a ghost and not only is the USS Ray/Jenny still intact after all, Jenny looks set to become IDW's answer to RGB Slimer, albeit more articulate in mind and vocabulary. And beautiful. LOL at Kylie's reaction.

So Egon was playing with numbers in Heaven. Typical. LOL at Peter and the slinky. I think it would have been more of an Easter egg if Dan had drawn the golden slinky that a fan gave Mrs Stiel (She still has it!)

And of course, everything goes back to straight-up ghostbusting. Kevin's broken a leg (Are you OK, mrmichaelt?) and Egon SMILED! OMG!

I can't wait for the Annual! But I'm also wondering....What happened to Kaia, Vinter's assistant? Burnham says.

Now that I think about it, I'm sick of comics being limited to 32 pages. We didn't even get a send-off for RGB Egon.

GHOSTBUSTERS INTERNATIONAL #11

Main Story

Should have known. With all the appearances she's gotten this volume, Jenny was marked from day one. Then Kylie warning her last issue should have been the big church bell ringing. But it's still a buzz kill and I still kind of hate Erik a little for doing it. I was hoping Ray would be left alone to have the most normal, not complicated romance among the original four. But nope.

Happy to see Loftur got his comeuppance in Hell. Nice touch with the Devil calling it even in lieu of the Stingy Jack encounter. Equally hilarious he wouldn't help them leave Hell and pretty much had zero interest in them.

Speaking of Hell, kudos to whoever thought to interweave "Dante's Inferno" in both the writing and the art namely the 5th and 9th Circle. And despite where they were, amusing there was some great comedy beats like Ray testing the mood slime on demons and Peter's dick joke in the 9th Circle.

Aibell coming back so soon was unexpected but I wonder if that's always how Erik intended on Egon coming back. But still, a part of me was curious where they would have ended up had Aibell not plucked them out of Hell. But lmao, Janine telling her 'tough rocks.' Girl. And oh Peter, using the psycho-analysis mind game on Aibell. lmao. Then follow that with the "Look out, Egons!"

It was relief to see the main story got one more page than usual, but it seems like another might have been needed one more... or not. I mean, we've seen the RGB farewell at the end of Get Real -- not like we need a repeat with RGB Egon going home but still... or a panel of Peck getting grilled by the government for signing the contract with the bad guy or explaining why Kevin's using crutches. My personal theory, he tried to duplicate Peter's dance improv in the Ghostbusters music video and it didn't go well. Winston called him "Kev." Hee hee.

The last two panels - worth it all to see Egon smile and speak from the heart to Ray. And also end it on a spectacular shot of Ecto-1 departing the Firehouse. I never get tired of that.

Haunted America

Kudos for Erik dipping into local lore once again, this time with the Fairlawn Mansion in Superior, Wisconsin. Not sure about the Skinless Man but the rest described is part of the actual lore. In addition, there's also ghosts of children who lived there when it was an orphanage.

So I guess a common manifestation of American psychopathic murderers is no skin? lol.

But naturally, the best part was Ron getting strangled. lmao.

No complaints, but seems like Lou is Melanie's go-to Ghostbuster. She should just apply to the FBI and be Melanie's partner. heh.

I got home and checked too and can't find anything either. But in issue 9, page 2, 4th panel, behind the desk are some crutches. So something must have happened before that. I hope it's not something lame like getting hurt from moving stuff around, but something a little more. I hope it's explained in the annual.

Well, I can try and ask Dan but no guarantees. EDIT: Dan said Erik suggested it. Erik says it was Dan's idea. Heh.

A pity on one hand that Dan once again is denied drawing the Chicago GB it appears but on the other hand, I dig the annuals get to explore other artists.

Just dropping in to say what a fantastic end International had. The comic remains the greatest love letter the franchise will ever receive. Aaaaand that's my customary gush done! Long may the comic continue! Can't wait to see what comes next...
