*looks up from the hilarious GB 101 comic containing both the old and the new team: 'did someone say something?'
For Ivan.

Thanks for reminding me that the IDW Comic Universe has been infected by that Reboot Cancer. I will now collect all my GB Comics and shred them or throw them in my backyard fire pit to burn.
Alphagaia wrote:Will you be wearing a broccoli suit while doing so? This is important. No brocolli suit. You have this all wrong........... Remember the movie version of Dragnet (yes the one with Danny Boy). I will be wearing the P.A.G.A.N. Leader's goat's head costume. Burning these comic books is still a sacrificial ceremony, you know. Hence, the need for the P.A.G.A.N. outfit. Feel free to join us by dancing around the fire in your goat skin pants (mandatory wear).

goldenhawk wrote:Well Extreme Ghostbusters was going to be a completely different kind of show than what it turned out to be. A lot of changes can happen during the concept stage. I was hoping they would steer away from the rebooted universe. In those respects I certainly share your frustration. Believe me I was as disappointed with the latest film as much as a person could be disappointed, but I do have faith that the franchise is do for a win. With so many projects being worked on somethings got to sit well eventually.Kingpin wrote:Oh please get off your high horse. ".........Ectoforce Force is not what you think. No original stuff. We have seen some preliminary storyboards when they were shown to Reitman. Chew on this. The title is Ghostbusters: Ectoforce 2040. Basically copies the storyline of Extreme Ghostbusters. The crazy Holtzman chick is the new Egon mentor to a new team of Ghostbusters. There is a white girl who is her field commander. A Latina/mixed race girl. A Indian guy who is a techno-nerd. And a black, mechanic guy who is related to the loud-mouth subway worker. I guess they are both from Da Streets of New York! There is a fifth member who is also a book nerd researcher type. As for tech, think jet packs. Think Iron Man type blasters and targeting helmets. Think flying Ecto Mobile with opening roof and launch pad. Think dimensional trap where to put ghosts. Looks way to far fetched, but they are aiming this at kids. Also, think possible cross over with TMNT. Yeah, those TMNTs."
Later y'all. Time for me to burn Comics and other GB stuff. Sell my props while they are worth something. And all that crap. You all Rebooters can have the GB Fandom now. It is oblivious that there is nothing more Sony and GB can offer the fans of the original GB Movies. I am following where the fans and the money is.....Star Wars.
goldenhawk wrote:It is movies that pull in huge box office numbers like Beauty and the Beast that always reminds us of what Sony could have done............Considering the Beauty and the Beast live action movie has the same feminist tampering as the reboot movie that is strange. Maybe the Disney movie appeals to kids more.

Here's an understatement: this does not sound promising.

Alphagaia wrote:Bye Goldenhawk! Thx for sharing the franchise with us! O wait...Oh come on Alpha those pics are cheesy, especially the Holtzman cosplayer. Ha, ha!

goldenhawk wrote:You went out of your way to complain about the reboot in a thread mostly dedicated to future of the franchise, which at the moment (based on Reitman's recent interview), is the Ecto Force animated series, a potential animated film, and a potential live-action film which may or may not be a continuation of the Answer the Call arm of the franchise.Kingpin wrote:Oh please get off your high horse.

And I'm not just defending it "because diversity." Extreme had diversity but I honestly don't see why it's so popular now (other than it got cancelled early and that can inspire a cult classic mentality).
