This probably doesn't belong here, but there's only been one post today so I'll say it. The other week I was reading a recent Nat Geo, and in it was an article about this dinosaur named Zuul, and Ghostbusters was mentioned in the article because of it. Pretty cool, I thought.

For the record I hate the GB2 name tags. I think they're ugly and the red lettering is too small.
I suspect they were meant as a visual cue. GB1 style was military. Large, bold letters. Easy to read. Corners are sharp...
Oh who are we kidding here? This movie isnt just a Continuation of the story, but its about Nostalgia too... Just like the GB1 patches, tags, etc... this movie is gonna be made to 'Take Us Back'... Simpler times, better movies and when John Hughes OWNED the 'Best Of' the 80's. ;-)

If there's 1 flick I'm ok with nostalgia being pushed all over the place...it's this one.

It's official. We've gone full circle in this conversation and everybody has been on every side. Early in this chat I kept pushing for the classic stuff and was hounded because things need to move forward and we can't get a franchise going if we don't change and blah blah blah. Now everyone's like "Just keeping the same old stuff? Perfect!" lol Just an observation. Glad to have you guys come around to my side finally.

I think more people were than wanted to admit it. Yes, it's the grow up thing to evolve the franchise but we're adults with $2,000 toys. Let's not pretend we aren't still big kids lol

I'm totally for changing the franchise up. I mean the 1959 Cadillac mm ambulance's Ghost symbols can be more of a ruby than a classic red. and the proton streams can go from yellow and blue to amber and teal. Heck, i'd even be okay with Ray Stantz parting his hair on the opposite side. And if Jason asks politely I might even consider letting him change the font in the end credits. See? I'm not afraid of change!

The power of a proton pack...in the palm of his hand.

Change is good. Ghostbusting is too important to remain confined between four people, moviewise. There has to be a new team who carries the torch.

But before that there has to be a closure for the old stuff.

What are the OGB doing now?

Are they alive but unwilling to strap the pack one more time? Are they all dead?

Considering all the years we have spent frustrated and anxiously waiting for a new movie in some form, whether original or reboot, I have found myself in my head pleading with the universe for something to finally happen.

Simply expressed by Venkman’s line in the deleted ending of the Mayor’s Office scene:
“Just let us kick some ghosts, will ya?”

Because it makes more comedic sense to cut straight from “whaddya need from me?” to the ridiculous army and police overkill escort the GBs have requested that they clearly don’t need. The “kick some ghost” and Janine farewell get in the way of the impact of that cut and lessen the irreverent impact of Venkman’s “c’mon, let’s run some red lights!” in the face of so much authority.

All of this. Plus, the line itself just comes off as pretty cheesy.

In my head they're alive (bar Egon), still trying to do their job busting ghosts but unwilling to admit to themselves that they're too old to do it now.

Egon probably died in a tragic accident, and since then they have been in denial that they should quit the Ghostbusting before another one of their team is killed too.

Second that, coover.

At least our creative energy kept it going for this long. And all we have aside from the crew is some vague casting and a teaser. Must be some kinda record

I figured there would be a lull when Endgame came out. It’s smart to save any news until the biggest movie of the year clears the headlines. We might not see much until fan fest now that it’s only 6 weeks away.
