The Mean Green Teen Machine, three reptilian-like surfing ghosts, catch a wave into New York City in order to satisfy their unquenchable craving for pizza. After a day of battling the three ghosts, the Ghostbusters decide to test Egon's latest machine which can provide any desired dream...or nightmare!

  • The title and characters in this episode are an obvious parody of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, whose cartoon was becoming vastly popular at the time.
  • Cam Clarke, famous for his voices of Leonardo and Rocksteady on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Anderson Wong guest star as voices of Guggenheim and Chicoloni, respectively.
  • Batman(1989) and Kim Basinger are referenced in Peter's dream.
  • Peter says he is a Scorpio.
  • A Don Corleone pizza restaurant that "makes a crust you can't refuse" is a reference to The Godfather and a famous line said by Marlon Brando as the character, Don Corleone.
  • Peter asks the Mean Green Teen Machine if they feel lucky, a reference to Clint Eastwood's famous line in Dirty Harry.
  • Several references to popular media are made in the guys dreams. Peter's Wheel of Pizza is a parody of Wheel of Fortune, Winston's dream is a parody of Star Trek and Ray dreams himself as Tarzan.
  • The events of Ghostbusters II are referenced by Egon and Winston disguised as construction workers when they talk about what happened last time they were digging in the street, even though Winston wasn't present at said event.
  • The Mean Green Teen Machine slime the Statue of Liberty temporarily bringing her to life, very similar to a major part of Ghostbusters II which came out the year before.
  • At the end of the episode, three of the guys all respond with what they want to get to eat with "Cheeseburger", likely a reference to the well known skit, Olympia Cafe on Saturday Night Live which featured John Belushi and then future Ghostbusters, Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray.
