EW: Ghostbusters Funniest Movie of Last 25 Years

Entertainment Weekly has released it's list of the Funniest Movies of the Last 25 Years. Topping the list at number one is everyone's favorite comedy: Ghostbusters.

"In the summer of 1984, the only pop-culture question more common than ''Where's the beef?'' was ''Who you gonna call?'' The dream trio of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis was the epitome of sarcastic comedy cool, battling slimy ghosts, the nosy Environmental Protection Agency, and a giant Stay-Puft marshmallow man."

Master Replicas hint at Ghost Trap Replica

As sent in by JediChris1138, Master Replicas has been hinting even further about their production of Ghostbusters Prop replicas. This time the hint from today's Newsletter cryptically mentions Ghost Traps.

"There’s been some interesting 'paranormal' activity on our message board. Help other members investigate and trap these and other strange occurrences by joining our message board today!"

Ofcourse who knows exactly what they have in store. Many times Master Replicas have stated they would be producing specific prop replicas, and end up not doing so. It would be cool though to have Officially Licensed Props!

Ghostbusters Fans own, Dan Amrich, has finally had his exclusive XBox Live video posted on the XBox website. The video offers a quick interview with the game's associate producer Ryan French. While the video is short, it does go over some new details on Multiplayer and takes a quick look scenes from the demo.

Time Life just sent us a copy of the Real Ghostbusters DVD Trailer that was shown at Comic Con a week and a half ago. It is very short, and mainly just shows the Intro, but it also has a quick clip of J. Michael Straczynski that will be apart of the 12 Hours of special features. Seth Rogen: Ghostbusters Sequel? Nope!

News of these stupid rumors started by Dread Central, have been laid to rest by the man himself, Seth Rogen. When being interviewed for his new movie, Pineapple Express, Seth was asked about the rumors of a new Ghostbusters movie and his involvement.

"Really? That's f****g rad! No one's told me about it, you're the first one. You got a script? [laughter] Yeah, no -- are they actually remaking Ghostbusters? Sounds fun, though -- I'm psyched about it ... but are you sure I'm not playing Slimer?"

So consider this rumor officially dead, but if we had it our way it would never have been started in the first place. Although we wouldn't mind seeing another movie made that had these 40 Year Old Virgin actors in again... but Ghostbusters? No Way. Thanks to Raystantz Italy for the scoop via Cinematical.

Interview: The Other Side Author Keith Champagne

While there might be some delays on a few Ghostbusters Projects scheduled this year, we cannot forget about this one that is still on track for release in October. Ghostbusters Fans managed to talk with Keith Champagne, the author of the new Ghostbusters: The Other Side comic series.

Keith lets us in on the kind of work that went into prepareing for the new comic, as well as how the story will be laid out. If all goes sucessfully, this won't be the last Ghostbusters comic mini-series released.

GB Fans Stats July 2008 - You Guys Rock!

Here are some of the key statistics for July 2008. The red/green statistics are the difference between this month and the last month.

Total Hits: 5,835,134 (+1,307,610)
Total Files: 3,924,068 (+861,258)
Total Pages: 459,684 (+94,886)
Total Visits: 73,957 (+17,388)
Total Unique Sites: 32,393 (+7,277)
Total Unique URLs: 63,204 (+29,158)
Total Unique Referrers: 18,647 (+7,725)

Here is a breakdown.. There were roughly 32,000 (+7000) visitors to the site that viewed 459,000 pages. That means on average each visitor viewed 14.3 pages. There were 5.8 million hits in June. Roughly 18,500 urls make reference to GBFans.

There were 194 new users to the site in July (~6 per day). many of those were in the last few days. Seems like we get atleast 20 new users each day now.

We blew past our best month this year. I can't wait to see what happens closer to Halloween! Last year we had a lot.. and this year I'm hoping for more visitors! You can help Promote the Site, and tell your friends about Ghostbusters Fans.
