Looks like they recreated the barn from the teaser.

Hey, Guys (and Gals), I was going to post the Reddit link
about the house, but I see I was beaten to the punch already.
Anyways, I've been reading the forum here since filming began, I've been active on Reddit with my theories and with this new photo of the house, may prove me wrong about the barn.
I originally kept thinking to myself that the barn scene in the teaser, was just a cobbled together scene to wet the palette, and had been aware that not every teaser scene plays a role in the final film.
Seeing the house, I'm beginning to think if that is the stantz family farm, what would be the ultimate love letter to the 84 movies than drawing pieces of the story from the RGB show?? episodes like Dairy Farm and Look Homeward, Ray could be an inspiration and combine that with the cult of Gozer.
My thinking is years after Vigo, ray has finally paid off the mortgage on the house and in turn has decided to move home, the barn or maybe some other facility in town has been converted into place to store the aging containment unit from the firehouse, knowing the middle of Oklahoma would do far less damage than in central new york, not knowing that summerville is connected to the cult of gozer worshippers.
a standed rusted junker with a guy in a golf buggy behind it.

Man, I'm
definitely apprehensive about the suggestion Ray's become some reclusive gun nut over the years. While I had considered the possibility that perhapse he had gone into seclusion over whatever happened years back, it seems it may have been harder on him than we first thought.
True, the "in range" sign might just be for show to keep nosy people away...

Yeah, I think you're right. The drill hole, bracket impression and white blob )paint? adhesive residue?) on the "new" Ecto's front bumper matches the placement of the amber revolving light on the Ecto-1A.

I kind of doubt this is Ray's farm. What are the odds that Ray would be from the same remote area as this Shandor town, would end up in New York to fight the output of their efforts, then wind up back in the same area for a final battle?

Then again, it is a film franchise about blasting spirits into a corporate jail and destroying a 100-foot confection. Perhaps I need to suspend my disbelief.

Not sure where the
"Ray's farm" bit has arisen from, as his dialogue only ever mentioned a house.

Speculation from the first teaser trailer combined with the RGB episode "Dairy Farm"?

Fun fact -- I used to tape record episodes of RGB from satellite transmissions. Local UHF stations would do the same, edit in commercials and broadcast them. Title cards would appear before the opening credits, and Dairy Farm was titled "Dairy Farm of the Dead."

Now that's interesting, that was the episode's full title, which was ultimately disapproved either by someone at Columbia or on the censor board.

I dont think that's Ray's place. It's in Oklahoma, I'm sure he's not the only one with a farm. Ray is basically a celebrity and a very smart one, he doesn't need signs all over his yard and a gun shooting target (why would he need a gun for the dead?). I think this is J.K. Simmons.

I'm thinking the
house belongs to some rich old guys buying animals from shifty salesman, shit. That's second hand lions. Never mind.
RichardLess wrote: ↑August 20th, 2019, 8:54 pmAnyways..seperate from that I wanted to bring something up that I noticed on rewatch. This may have been discussed ad nauseam for all I know but I'm going to bring it up anyway. So in Ghostbusters 1 there's an extra that appears in two seperate sections of the movie. We first see him outside the Library as the GB's are running out from their encounter with the librarian ghost. The second is after they walk out of the bank during the mortgage discussion(he's behind/near Bill Murray).
What's the story with this extra does anyone know? We know Jason is going thru old footage and alternate takes for GB2020 and I saw this reappearing extra and had an idea that will never come to pass but I thought it was a neat little "what if".
This extra, which I wish I had a screenshot of, is a male in his late 20's. What if he's some sort of inter dimensional being keeping tabs on the Ghostbusters? He sees their first encounter with a ghost, and is around for all the important moments in their formation. I think I may have also spotted him in the crowd during the containment unit explosion. I'm not sure. But he's in two seperate scenes. How cool would it be if they used that guy or something like it that had us re examine the way we looked at the original film?
This is a hall-of-fame stretch.
My theory is
he's looking for old footage of Harold to use for constructed flashbacks...maybe some digital de-aging for the original cast.
My main reason for this is, I already think it's hard to buy that Dana would be sensibly involved in something that takes place far from New York. Thinking of a reason the office secretary would also be there is even harder. So it makes the most sense to me to imagine Jason showing something in the missing years between 1989 (or 1991) and 2019/2020.

Who said that part of the film doesn't take place in NYC? It's the worst kept secret in Hollywood that the original cast is back...and they aren't shooing in Canada...

RichardLess wrote: ↑August 20th, 2019, 8:54 pm Vigo should have zero connection to anything from the first film. It's obviously not what Dan/Harold/Ivan intended when creating the character, and like others have said, it weakens Vigo as a bad guy and the franchise. Not everything should be connected. That's lazy storytelling. Vigo is his own thing.
I don't know if I'd necessarily call it lazy storytelling, and while I like the way it plays out in the video game, I don't think it's necessary and does weaken Vigo's storyline a bit, especially in terms of people complaining that GB2 is a big rehash of GB1.

Just an interesting idea I thought.
Definitely pretty far out there in theory land for this one. I'd imagine the footage is related to Egon and that the filmmakers likely didn't even recognize the same extra being used twice. It doesn't mean it's impossible, but I'd be very surprised if they elected to go that route.
Looks like we'll have Old Ray, Old Peter and Old Winston action figures along with Recycled Ant Man Sculpt Body and Recycled Stranger Things GB Mike

YEESSSSS! Hasbro will surely create some fantastic toys, unlike the minimal efforts from Mattel for 2016. I would not be surprised if we don’t see some retro RGB Kenner thrown into the mix!

While there are definitely other possibilities, the rusted-out Ecto seems to imply that the Ghostbusters aren't in business, so it feels like there has to be more work involving Janine. But we'll see!

I agree 100%...they aren't in business, but maybe they will be by the end. Like, what if the first 2/3 of the flick takes place in Oklahoma and then the third act or something involves the OG cast in NYC? Probably wishful thinking, but I can't see a scenario where Jason doesn't use the Firehouse.

Wishful thinking on my part...but the most likely scenario for NY showing up in my head would be the very very end. Maybe a nice closing scene.

I would imagine that we will see the firehouse again. It's so iconic that it would be a shame to leave it out. Even if it's just in a flashback scene or something.

I've said it before, but all we need is some NYC folks watching the firehouse! The second any film unit or set dressing appears, we'll know one way or another!

If we're lucky; since 1984 when it was shown in the first film the moment Egon, Peter and Ray bought it with Ray's money and Ray sliding down the pole for the first time (You gotta try this pole!), that firehouse has become a part of Ghosbusters lore for more than a decade. ^_^

Absolute bare minimum, we'll see it in a flashback. There's no way this movie won't find some way to address the 1989/1991-2019/2020 gap, which would seem to necessitate seeing the firehouse at least once.

Until the sign hangs again, H&L8 is just H&L8.
I only questioned it because its being blocked off and the crew working on the side like they are about to film. But 99% sure you are correct.

All this talk of whether or not H&L 8 will be in the movie makes me wonder what they’ll do if they need any interior shots. Station 23 has been in some significant disrepair and was slated to be refurbished into some kind of an art center starting beginning of this year. The City is a bit of a mess right now, especially in that area where the neighborhood is like a demilitarized zone. I wonder if they’d try and do a soundstage build to try and replicate it if it’s unusable. It’s a shame what’s happened to that landmark.

Even if they use 50-75% of the building for filming they'd have to fix up 100% of it. I can't imagine it being more expensive to replicate it on a soundstage.

They already duplicated the firehouse to some extent for the 2016 film. I'm sure they could do it again or even reuse some of that set.
But they will need exterior shots in New York if they bring the firehouse back.
Maybe if they slap a sign on the station in time for Halloween, people will be less suspicious about them filming and just think it's a holiday gimmick.
