And isn't Ray's parents' home implicitly in New York? Manhattan City Bank seems like a region specific financial institution.
I like the idea it's some kook trying to replicate the Ghostbusters' tech because he/she thinks something is coming.

Maybe? Unlikely, I think.
I got excited when I first posted because I thought it might have indicated the year the chase scene took place. Turns out it's just a throughway to MacLeod's Main Street.
I thought it was MGs double with FWs double driving.

My pet theories: Either they'll creatively film Hook & Ladder #8 with a bit of set staging and CG enhancement if the Firehouse does show up at the end, and we see the interior.
Or we'll see the Firehouse exterior, but not the insides, which'd be saved for the next movie, and which will be achieved with a soundstage set, like Answer The Call.

Oh, yeah. You're right. Wolfhard had the green flightsuit and Grace had the blue one.

True, for ATC, they built the interior set in a warehouse in Norwood during the Boston filming. They could possibly do the same here and build the ground floor interior in an Alberta warehouse.

This may have been talked about already, but that "pack" does not look like the traditional proton pack from 1 & 2. So maybe they are updating the equipment. Hmmm
It's the
pack that is built into the chair that swings out of Ecto. So something completely new and also totally logical - there's no way you could safely sit in that with a conventional pack on your back! Much more sensible to have part of the chair itself be a pack!
house belongs to Stantz or Spengler's family. But I'm wondering if it maybe is where Shandor resided (when he wasn't in NYC conducting rituals on the roof of 55 Central Park West). Maybe the "Repent" and other signs were put there by someone else that has figured out what Shandor was up to, and all of the local townsfolk think this person is nuts - except for Wolfhard and Grace.

If a supernatural threat were imminent,
I don't think Ray Stantz of all people would be running around putting up signs that say "repent." That's a bit too religious of an answer for a guy that worked with particle throwers and traps.
Could be a relative of Shandors. Could be a character we know nothing about.

Misquote, but yeah, I don’t think it’s Ray’s either. Might not be the same property where the Ecto was stored either.

Fair point!
Still, all things being equal, I have to lean toward the "take action" scenario. Time will tell.

Yeah the misquote and the Tunguska blast of 1909 always bugged me. I mean...1909? They were off by 1 year. There's this weird Aykroyd tendency where he has knowledge of certain things, but the details are wrong. i'd be surprised if he didn't write those scenes lol.
Yet somehow Tunguska blast of 1908 just doesn't have the same ring to it.

In regards to quoting Revelations, Dan stated that Rays background was that he was a seminary student whod lost his faith. Makes sense when you do your homework on Akryoyd and find out he was a seminary student himself but dropped out to persue his career.
It doesnt necessarily mean hes a bible thumper now but hes familiar with the material.

It's easy to miss in this thread since there are so many spoiler tags.
To that end... the thread says "spoilers." Do we need to be hiding everything within it?
If someone has come to this board and this thread, they should know they're in for some spoilers.

I thought the same. Made me think of possible damage from an Ecto-clone via an episode from EGB. https://youtu.be/cBBavkNiY-U

Another Insta nugget. Never stop learning.
Here's a glimpse at the Summerville Middle School logo. Seeing a theme throughout the town. What do you suppose happened in 1956?
Where have I seen that before? Oh yeah.. a t-shirt I own. ::Crossing fingers::

A clearer profile view of the proton chair...

You can clearly see part of an ion arm near the middle of the back of the chair, and what may be an N-filter toward the bottom.

I always figured a proton pack chair would have ion arm rests.
Nice photo though. Love that it'll give fans a prop to build that is both fun and Ghostbustersy but can also serve a real purpose.

Maybe since the kids are using it, they might need a 'Booster' seat...

I'm still curious to know if they'll be driving with a license. Possible scenario of the car getting impounded which brings the og's into town to bail them out or consider pressing charges.
I mean what kid isn't going to hotwire the ecto if they find it in a barn? That's like having a grandparent who kept his tank from world war 2 in the garage. Too damn tempting not to drive.

Finn Wolfhard, despite what people think because of Stranger Things, is 16 years old. It's plausible that his character would have a drivers permit. For context, Marty McFly was supposedly 17 when the events of Back the the Future took place.
It's equally plausible that blasting around a cult town in an Ectomobile -- without a drivers license -- is the conflict needed to introduce antagonists.

Not to mention possibly getting the attention of OG Protagonists.
