Talk about stuff that has nothing to do with Ghostbusters!

So I was a huge fan of the Haunted Humans action figures that were surrounded by TRGB action figures. Maybe it was a different manufacturer, but that doesn't matter.

And I was wondering now with all the 3D printers, how could you design such a thing? Because it's basically just plastic, and they somehow managed at the time with their means to create them. So it was quite ingenious. And even today, I wouldn't know how to create that with Blender or with FreeCAD or similar software.

So have you ever done this?

Do you have an idea how I can do it? I don't know yet which character I want to create. Just knowing how to do it, that it basically switches into a different character by moving some parts, would be a great start to create the whole action figure and print it out, so it actually works the way it is intended.

If you have any experience with 3D software such asa Tinkercad, Blender or Fusion 3D you can basically build a figure from gound up. I have no expereince with 3D software but you might be able to find files you can edit on thingiverse, and cults3D. There are other sites but i'm not listing them all. If you have the haunted Human action figure you can always buy a 3D scanner or even go to Etsy like sites and hire someone to make the files you need. Depending on who you find it could be a cheap or expensive endeavor. (More likely if it's custom work it's going to be spendy.)

Once you have your files you need to figure out if you want to go with a service that prints files, or buying a 3D printer yourself. There are a lot of printers under 500 that are decent and faster compared to ones available a few years ago. You just need to do the research and figure out whats best for the direction you want to move in. The quality of the figure you want will depend on whatever your budget is.

Thank you, but unfortunately you are a little bit missing the point. The point is not just how to design the figurine as in one state, but how to design the figurine that it allows for the switch to happen. So basically this is a kind of engineering almost that you are able to design a figurine that can be moved repeatedly and also work in another version. So that's the real question here. How can I do this so it works in both versions in the scary mode and the normal mode and looks convincing with each? I realized, it's like transformers. So if you can design a transformer from plastic, you can create a Haunted Human.

That's a little bit above my paygrade. What I posted should give you a leg up on what you're attempting. You need to design the parts you want or hire someone who knows what they're doing with 3D software. So I would start by figuring out how to design the scary, and Non scary parts first. If you're hiring someone professional to do this they should be able to save the parts you need in an .STL format or whatever format the printer your going to use needs. You can print full on Megazords, and Transformers already so what you want to attempt is possible if you take the time and research to finish your project. The files you're looking for may already be available. Here's an example of transforming parts and vehicles you can already print out.

If these aren't the files your looking for I don't know what else to tell you other then what I had already. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/gh ... both-forms
