I figured I'd continue our yearly tradition of an annual thread recapping our events of the last year. This year our team has grown by leaps and bounds, raised thousands of dollars for charities, put alot of smiles on alot of faces, got our own Ecto up and running, and participated in many great events. We clocked over 120 hours at events this year. This has been our biggest year yet and 2010 is already looking to surpass this one.

Our year started off big by our first appearance in the Fiesta Bowl Parade in downtown Phoenix. The parade is the largest parade on this side of the country with an average of 100,000 spectators along the parade route plus the live broadcast.

2009 was a pretty sick year for you guys and it's awesome to see such a huge positive response from everyone who adores you all and seeing you at an event(or birthday party).

Seeing the AZ Ghostbusters(and even befriending some of them) at events is kind of like meeting Superman, Batman, or some other heroic character to me. In March 08, after seeing you guys at a First Friday walk, I totally flipped out as my 4 year old self was screaming on the inside of fangirl-ness. Knowing all the lines, having the toys, and refusing to drink anything BUT Slimer Hi-C at 4 years old, I had to meet you guys and say hello. Being a then 22 year old girl, I had to hold back the nerdness inside and play it cool.

I've been through quite a lot this last couple years(losing my Aunt to Cancer in 08 and my Nana to Diabetes in 09) and the charity work that the AZGBs devote their time to makes me even appreciate you guys more. Yeah, it's pretty rad to have someone to talk GB to and have someone not yell at me for wanting to watch the movie every single time it plays on AMC but instead encourages it! But honestly, bringing awareness to those great causes in which you all do and having rules of how you conduct yourselves makes the people respect you in the GB uniform. To adults, you're probably guys and girls role playing, but in those kids who see you, you ARE the Ghostbusters.

The Fiesta Bowl was "the cartoon[credits] in real life" as my youngest bro said beside me and it was awesome to see the AZ Ghostbusters doing what they do best. Making kids smile.

Andrea
