The most adventurous road rally EVER CREATED! The Inaugural Cannonball Phoenix Spree begins at the Fort McDowell Radisson. This is a fun spirited weekend rally combined with a truly scenic drive. We begin our first leg cruisin’ to Payson, rubberneck our way through Sedona and breeze into Flagstaff.

ARIZONA STATE TREASURER DEAN MARTIN TO “START THE ENGINES”!

This will be a wildly entertaining and adventurous rally, bringing many of your favorites together: a unique scavenger hunt earns you points along the way as well as a poker run for another opportunity to earn great awards. Other prizes will be given to those who earn the trivia bragging rights, best costume, best car and a variety of other categories for winning. You won’t know if you’ll be a BIG winner unless you put the pedal to the metal and join the outrageous fun on the Inaugural Cannonball Phoenix Spree!

To keep with the movie’s theme of eccentric racers, we are inviting a wide variety of competitors with all makes, years and models to the rally, sponsored by the Fort McDowell Radisson and Fort McDowell Casino. Cannonball girls and look-a-likes will appear during the event to take pictures with you and your car. This whacky-zany rally can be as fun as you make it; grow out your Burt Reynolds’ mustache or dress up as your favorite movie character and have a blast!

Special Guests:

Special guest appearances by the Hooter’s Girls, Firebird International Raceway, Victor Pfluger Racing, Bondurant High Performance Driving School, UTI, Cobblestone Auto Spa, Kaos Funeral Cars and many more.

Featured Guests:

“Bruce Wayne” and his GothamCityMotors.com Batmobile will be on site to help raise funds, spirits and awareness. The Arizona Ghostbusters and their ECTO-AZ will also be on hand to help keep the event safe from any pesky poltergeists.

This event will help support Operation Homefront which provides emergency assistance and morale to our troops, to the families they leave behind, and to wounded warriors when they return home. ECCO is proud to be a supporter of Operation Homefront and that Cannonball Spree will benefit the arduous endeavor of this worthy charity.

On Saturday April 10, 2010, we took a drive outside town to take part in filming a promo video for the Cannonball Spree car show and rally. We were joined by many of the local movie and TV car replicas taking part in the show. The road was closed off by the police for the shoot for about a mile for the filming and stunts. The filming was a blast and it was great to meet many of the other car enthusiasts in town. We will post the video when it is completed.

On Friday, April 30, 2010 was the innagural Phoenix Cannonball Spree car show. The car show was the kickoff to the actual road rally ending on Saturday in Flagstaff in northern Arizona. The show was held at the Fort McDowell Casino and Radisson Resort. The entry fee to enter the rally, raffle tickets, and general donations were all given to Operation Homefront to benefit deployed soldiers and their families. A total for the entire event is still being tallied, but over a $1000 was collected from raffle tickets. A variety of classic, exotic, and movie car replicas were on display at the show as well as the 28ft Stay-Puft balloon from Sony. A stage was set-up for opening ceremonies and bands to play. We had the Ecto-AZ set up across from Stay-Puft with a PA system playing a mix of GB tunes and the Ecto siren. It was a great night and an awesome event. We definitely plan to attend the next one. Here's the photos I got from the evening and I more from other busters and photographers on the way.

Great Job guys! Sorry I could not be there. I think this makes three or four events outf the past Three and a half years! Well, there goes my perfect attendance record, doh! The pictures look great and the presence of all the fance cars really makes for a solid show. Too Bad Cody did not have his JP Jeep up and ready. That would of been another geeky addition to an already stellar show.
