As with my pack, this trap is going to be a "between movies" style build. I do like a couple of the Afterlife additions to the traps (the arms for the door hinges, mesh inside to hide the internals, etc.), but I'm mainly leaning on the GB2 retrofitted superhero as inspiration. I might also pull from some of the other GB1 and 2 traps here and there, as no two traps were the same.
To start things off, a complete repaint was in order. Then I added stripes with a mix of GB1 and GB2 style tape. Yellow stripes are gaffers tape as in GB1 and black stripes are electrical tape like GB2. If the superhero was reused in GB2 I like the idea of the stripes being somewhere between the two.
I removed the IR receiver, as I'll never use that feature and made a new faceplate for the bargraph. I'll eventually make a GB2 style bezel when I get around to replacing the LEDs with a legitimate bargraph.
Made new aluminum plates for the sides and face of the cartridge. Added the two missing screws in the appropriate corners of the side plates, so all four corners have screws like the original traps.
Made the missing plate for the top of the rear box, swapped out the toggle switch for an accurate one and moved the indicator light further back to be more in line with the GB2 superhero. Added a handle brace bracket while I was there.
Also, added the remote switch from the superhero. It's just cosmetic at the moment, but once I start working on the electronics I'm sure I can find something to do with it.
Still tons of stuff to do, but this is a nice start.
