Title says it all, really. I'm desperately trying to lighten the trap as much as I can in preparation of the Ectolabs electronics replacement system. I've already removed the vibration motor (since it barely worked anyway) and I plan on replacing the side panels with 3D printed ones (why the hell did they use STEEL of all things?!) and I think I'll be doing the same with the wheels.

What else could I swap out or remove to help lighten the load?

Another option instead of 3D printed side panels is brushed metal acrylic, it's very lightweight but looks just like aluminium.

The only thing I had to do was colour in the grey/white edges using a silver pen. This was on a TacoBelli 3D printed trap, I'm not sure if someone's made files available for the HasLab yet.

The HasLab wheels are also ridiculously heavy, but I'm not sure if anyone's offering a lightweight replacement. Personally I'd prefer to swap them out for 84-style skateboard bearings instead but the V-Hook mounting block sticks out way too far, and I don't know if that can be removed easily or if requires actually modifying the plastic.

Edit: Yes, someone does seem to have lightweight wheels for the HasLab: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1861283358 ... rap-wheels

Also, the holster weighs 417grams, it seems to be made of steel as well. DoRayEgons sells one which is half that weight if you're interested: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1878953409 ... in-the-box

As far as files you can print yourself, I'm not sure. I don't see any free equivalents for the above products but I only did a quick search on Thingiverse/Printables/MakerWorld.

Not sure if any of this is actually helpful but maybe it'll start a good conversation. Good luck!
