Yes! I watched that about 2 days ago on Netflix and noticed the same thing.
I'd seen that movie a hundred times and never noticed.

thats cool about the fire house! can you guys school me real quick, im under the impression its a working fire station, isnt it?

i always thought it was, BUT i cant imagine the film crews, renting the station, let alone paying for the fire fighters to be housed in another station, or better yet closing the station down for X amount of days while they film. what happens if there is a emergency at the time of filming and the station was being rented at the time

i always wondered this, but could never find a answer

I know the exterior firehouse is a real station in NY that is still operational. The interior is in CA and I believe it's no longer in service, but I can't say that part for sure. If I recall correctly it's a completely abandoned building now.

Hey halliwax, Hook & Ladder 8 in New York which is still active was the exterior fire house used for GB HQ in the movies and Engine 23 & Truck Company in L.A. which has been out of service since 1960 was used for the interior shots. Some members of the community here actually went to Engine 23 a little while back and were able to take a tour of the place and they took pictures, if you go to the top of the page and click on "Equipment" and once it takes you to that page click on "Reference Section" it will take you to the reference photos page if you scroll down almost at the bottom you'll find the photos of their tour.

Or you can watch all 5 parts on Youtube starting here ;)

One thing I noticed recently is you can hear the camera trolley rolling and stop in the scene where Venkman and Stantz are walking toward Winston meeting him for the first time.

I showed my Blu-Ray of BTiLC to my son back in August, after which I posted this on my FB page:

Quick, name a movie from the 80's with visual effects by Richard Edlund, partially shot at firehouse LA23, and which contains lines of dialogue that say "It's Miller Time!" and "Light's green".

My friends impishly guessed things like 2010, Caddyshack, 3 Men and a Baby, Gremlins, and Macbeth. But no one said Ghostbusters, and no one gave the 'correct' answer, so I revealed it thusly:

Well, it was actually... Big Trouble in Little China. Oddly enough, it's Kim Cattrall (as Gracie Law) who says the lines quoted above, both times speaking to Kurt Russell (as Jack Burton).

~~~
The LA firehouse was also used as a location in The Mask, though I haven't seen that Jim Carrey movie in ages.
That's right, in The Mask Engine 23 was used as the repair garage where they were "fixing" Stanley's car, I forgot about that one.
Was watching my new Blu ray.
And noticed this.
I circled it in red. Its an arm. It kinda moves up and down? As if its signaling Bill Murrary to get up and go.
That's gonna annoy me whenever I watch the movie now.
But I had to share the annoyance.
Next time you watch GB, take a gander at the Vinz terror dog as the crossed proton stream is charging through Gozers doorway. Vinz is pawing at the stream like a puppy, right up until the dimensional gateway explodes. Even in terror dog form, he's a doofus.
Oh man that is absolutely hillarious.
So, Peter had tranquilizers with him when he went to Dana's? Drug problem? Date rapist?
Or maybe Dana had them...
. Also in gb2, after peter leaves the set of world of the psychic, he is complaining about the guests, on the back wall there is a logo, is it a ghostbusters logo or a no smoking sign, what do you guys see?
Yes it is the No Ghost logo.
BTW tnx for pointing that out, I wouldn't have noticed it if I didnt go back to check.
At 22:38 of the GB I, when Dana is walking in, there's a diet Coke in a small open drawer on the mid-left side of the screen.
I vehemently disagree.
Look at a side-by-side comparison.
The red circle and line are nowhere near thick enough, but most importantly, you see a continuous circle.
On a no-ghost logo, the circle is broken three times by the head and hands of the ghost.
I can understand the tendency toward wishful thinking, believe me... but objectively, that's a no-smoking or similar office sign.
The whole point of the beginning scenes of the movie is that the Ghostbusters are out of work and disgraced in the public's eye.
The last thing the set dresser would do is subliminally suggest someone still supported them.
